Would love to give the CSL Plasma center a great 5 star review, because I love the staff that I run into when donating here; however, my gripe is the wait times.
Not to say the center doesn’t run efficiently, but the center is short staffed in comparison to some others I have been to. I deliver they choose staff that can handle the job and work as professionals, but there must be a bit of crossover with having more staff🤷🏽♂️. Maybe one day there will be a center full of people? I encourage everyone who is able to, apply so we can get these wait times down!
Otherwise, the center is run very efficiently with beds being set up almost back to back as compared to others, and the entire process seems to be streamlined via the electronic documenting. I also love that compared to other centers the entire process can be started on your phone, and using the app gives points and information about all kinds of bonuses and promotions within the center! I think if there were more beds and screening booths open, the entire process could be over and done with in a matter of minutes rather than hours. (Speaking figuratively of course, never takes me more than...
Read moreNurse bent the rules for herself but refused a simple accommodation for me.
When i came in i was told i was a lapse donor so i had to redo the videos and all of my survey questions even though id already done them online, as well as my biometrics and consent form. I was not expecting that so i asked to have my pulse done first since i usually fail it so i didnt want to do an hour of work to be sent home.
The nurse asked me to come back to the medical office to discuss it with her in private. She asked me to say yes that i had received some forms she didnt give me, i said yes assuming shed give them to me shortly, but she did not.
I asked again to have my pulse taken before doing a ton of work and the nurse refused. I know for a fact that i have had my pulse taken in the nurses office before, but she refused and stated it could get her in trouble.
So apparently asking me to lie on forms won’t get her in trouble, but recording my pulse before i do an hour...
Read moreI’ve given 33 times at CSL. I’m usually very polite and in a good mood and usually leave feeling fine and happy to see some of my favorite workers. My last give was a disaster. The phlebotomist was rude, didn’t listen to my input and had to readjust my needle multiple times and allowed the machine to alarm 26 times. After my hand turned purple, they finally let up in the pressure. I asked a few questions about why this was going so poorly today and they said “ you have bad veins!” Ok, well, I’ve just not had this many things go wrong in a give. The phlebotomist left the floor. Another one had to deal with unhooking me after they decided to terminate my give. However, they left the needle in me for 15 minutes. Nobody seemed to care, I talked to a supervisor and got a cursory unapology. I now have a very bad bruise and I will not be able to give for a while. I will be looking at other plasma centers in the mean time....
