I attended this museum as a chaperone for my child’s field trip. The museum in of itself is very informative and well supplied with historical artifacts but the staff is utterly terrible. Their distain for children and their life in general is grossly apparent in every interaction. Their attitudes made what could have been an exciting opportunity to learn more like being trapped in a totalitarian state. Kids are exhausting and the staff wants to protect the artifacts, I get that, but these children we’re perfectly behaved and there was no need for their terrible attitudes. Read moreThe Museum of the Grand Prairie has excellent exhibits that will teach you about the Native American people of the region and tell the story the westward movement of settlers and the tension within Illinois over the Civil War. There is PLENTY to do, even without the special events, programs, etc. ALL the staff is friendly and seem to really enjoy children! The camps are fun! The interactive exhibits are great.
