Purchased a pair of sneakers online for in store pick up. The shoes were originally $40.99 when I got home I noticed that the sticker on the bottom of the shoe had $36.99. I immediately reached out to the store via Instagram and an associate told me that sometimes things are priced higher online than in store and offered me a $5 coupon. This was absurd because most stores are cheaper online (because there’s no over head). Also begin a former employee I knew that wasn’t the pricing structure and I knew that the $5 coupon was off a future purchase. I declined because after this incident I do not plan on shopping there any longer. A few days later, the manager got involved and called it a “bit bizarre” that I said that I was cheated when they offered me a refund of $3. As you can see in the screen shots. No one ever offered me a refund of $3. Just the $5 coupon on a future purchase. The manager stated as you can see that after they price the item, they have no control over the price increasing. It’s funny how their software “magically” increases prices in their favor. I’m which I will be reporting to the FTC. After insulting my feelings, she then offered a full refund in which I declined because of her rude behavior and also because I live 1 hour and 15 minutes away. That place is full of liars. I will NEVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!! THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE WHOLE AND WILL CONTINUE...
Read moreIt's almost pains me to give this shop a negative review since the concept of this resale store seems ideal. I read about Clothes Mentor and was excited by the thought of what should have been a straight-forward, easy, hassle-free experience, but I feel I must share my disappointment. I went into the shop with a basket of nicely folded, clean, gently used clothing to sell. The owner, who was as pleasant as can be, went to great lengths to explain the guidelines to me. I had already read about them online and was familiar with what to expect. I left my less than two years old (another guideline)clothing to be evaluated and was excited to get a phone call back a few hours later with an "offer" on my clothes. Per the owner and the CM website, I was expecting 1/3 of 1/3 the retail value of my clothing, ie "if an item sells for $90, we sell it at $30, and you get $10." When I got there, my clothing had been divided into two baskets...the buys and the passes. The clothing was not nicely folded and stacked as they had been when I brought everything in. Instead, it was all balled up in a wrinkly mess. The offer on ten items that were valued at $804 (yes, I keep receipts) was $30.10. Using their formula, the offer should have been much closer to $90. Understandably, I was disappointed. I can donate those pieces to a charity and come out better with my...
Read moreRecently have not had great experiences here. In the past, I’d say they were a decent consignment store for buying and selling. Although the last two times I’ve attempted to sell, as others have noted, it was quite difficult. I lugged my items in, only to be told they had to be in a specific type of container - which honestly doesn’t make sense to me. I then changed my bag to a box I found in my car, lugged them back in the store, only to be told they were only offering store credit. The most recent time, I called prior to making the drive and asked if they were doing cash outs. She told me they were and they hours. I got there with a decent amount of items, many only worn once, a few still had tags, and all either good quality name brand or designer. After waiting in my car for 30mins, they only took one nike shirt and offered $2 stating that they were “being very tight on what they accepted.” They also love to say “some of your items were too well loved” but I often only consign items that have only been worn once or twice or still have tags. I also don’t understand how they continue to turn away good designer brand items... not sure I’ll continue to try and sell there. Making the trip there and only being offered $2 for one shirt ... very...
