Seagrove On The Beach Property Rentals — Hotel in Area C (Long Beach)

Very disappointed in our stay July 22-July 29 2023 at beach baby on 653 Eastern Lake Road. I will preface this review to say that we stayed here in 2020 and didn’t have any issues other than it wasn’t cleaned well but that was fixed. If I could give zero stars I would. We were told when we picked up the keys there were two dehumidifiers in the home , now we know why. Upon arrival the house was clean but had a very strong mold / dead animal smell. The A/C never cooled the house it never got cooler than 80 degrees. We understood now why there were dehumidifiers and box fans in the home. The breakers would constantly blow turning off the electricity, you couldn’t blow dry your hair. When we told the management, Candy, about the A/C unit the company offered a portable unit and brought it and another box fan out but they didn’t drill a drain for it so it soaked the carpets. The hot water heater constantly beeped then went out , so no hot water. The oven also didn’t work until we had to reset the breaker box when the whole house lost electricity while trying to blow dry our hair. The house apparently has a septic tank that doesn’t work well also. Toilet in back bedroom barely flushed. When we talked to the management company about all the issues they said that the duct work in the home needs redone so that the A/C could work properly, in the bunk room there was a hole in the wall which lead us to find that there was a leak in the bathroom that caused the mold dead animal smell and multiple large nagts/flies. After telling them I read the reviews from previous guests, the ones that stayed in May and June, they had the same complaints, the management company discredited them. I told them we would like compensated as this had messed up the first three days of our vacation, we spent $7400 so this wasn’t acceptable. She says she talked to the owners and they offered to refund us $500 ! Totally unacceptable, I really hate the home owners and company are so deceitful. First and foremost, the primary focus of my review is to express the heartfelt gratitude I have for the Owner and the staff at Seagrove on the Beach Property Rentals and the Owner of the condo I was renting. My husband and I had just started our vacation in Florida and he suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on the beach. There are no words to express the situation I found myself in, but there are also no words to express the sincere and compassionate love that was extended to me by Seagrove on the Beach. After my children arrived from Kentucky, we were at a loss of what to do while we waited for the necessary legalities to be completed before returning home but their staff went above and beyond in providing for us. This is one family that will tell anyone we know who might be planning a vacation to that area, to call Seagrove on the Beach. You will be dealing with a honest and reputable property management agency. On a lighter side, the condo we had was absolutely perfect. Very clean and well maintained with everything we needed. The AC broke 2 days into our 7 night stay. Turns out it happens there all the time. My youngest daughter spent the night in the ER because she had a heat stroke. When I let them know there was not response. I thought it was important that they not rent it out the following week. Every day we kept being told that it would get fixed. Then when they 'fixed it' it was not actually fixed. It was 89 degrees in there. Something more should have been done for guests. If they had been honest we would have moved to another place. Hard to believe we still had to pay, we had to buy box fans, we could only eat by the pool, all of our food went bad because it was too hot to cook.
