This review has no baring on the Trolls themselves which are stunning works of art. This review is for the park and the mis management of the trolls. We pull into the large parking lot, there is a sign that says "troll parking" we knew we were in the right place. Then there is a much smaller sign that says "Gretta to the left and Eric to the right" those are the troll names. Once you embark on the chosen path, that's it. You are left to your own devises to try and find these hidden trolls. No signs pointing the directions. There are other visitors wandering around, so you start following them in hopes of finding a troll. We made our way to the end of the road, where the grounds crew of the park, were laying fresh new asphalt. Yes, hot sticky smelly asphalt. In and around were people are walking. No signs to say to avoid the area. My wife sees a very small sign behind a bush, that says troll. It's a path. We get on this new path. It's over grown and not kept up by the park. I being partially disabled walk with a cane and I am 6'4". Had to constantly step over roots, take sharp turns and worse bend completely in half to get under low hanging branches covering the path. Even my 5'2" kid had to duck at one point. We make it to Gretta finally. Beautiful, gorgeous work of art. There is a rock wall in a semi circle in front of her. Which hinders movement if more than 10 people are looking at her. It's really limiting to how many people are able to access her at one time. We found a much more flat and no over hanging trees exit. To a flat road. Which was on the far side of the parking lot, of where we got started. Getting back to the parking lot, and heading in the direction of Eric, seemed even harder to find. There were absolutely no signs to say where he was or where to go to find him. Following other people who seems to also be lost. We eventually came upon a pond and low and behold there he was covered by trees. If you didn't go into the Grove you wouldn't have seen him. This area was much larger and more accommodating than gretta was. More room to move about and take in the beauty of the wood sculpture even with a lot of other people there. The other people were all super friendly even offering to take pics of others so their whole group could be in it. There were no boards, plaques, signs to tell you anything about the artist. Or the Trolls, what their names were or the Lore behind them. Which adds to the mystery of the trolls. (This is a world wide exhibit) we've been to the ones in Maine and had a much better experience. Lore boards, directions, maps, ample room to visit the trolls. The people and the wood Trolls are the only reason this review has 3 stars, it should be 2. If just judging the trolls...

This is sculpture 128 of 158 from the sculptor Thomas Dambo who has these around the USA, Caribbean, and Europe. His site details these well. Her name is Greta Granit.
I like this one better than her twin, Erick Rock, which is a short walk away. Follow the yellow troll feet to get you to that. This sculpture is a tad more secluded as there is a somewhat overgrown wooded trail that you must take. Easy however. Around the sculpture itself are rocks to sit on and enjoy the sculpture. I never would have thought I would have enjoyed this, but after learning about the sculptor, his work, and of course seeing these for myself, I am amazed.
Pictures of these do a decent job but being in person and seeing this as such, you will like the craftsmanship and detail of the troll. It is awesome.
Neat and...
