Iconic lighthouse looking over the seawall to the beach below. The light itself is on Coast Guard property and there’s no trespassing- but you’ll have a fine view from the street. The beach below is beautiful, and you might even see a great white shark- they are drawn to these waters by all the seals on Monomoy. We found a great time to visit the light is after dark- the ocean beyond is pitch black with only the Atlantic in front of you all the way to Europe. Watch the light as it revolves and see how far you can follow it as it pierces the dark void.

This is the kind of place you come for wildlife watching since you can't go in the water due to the great white sharks hunting/feeding on the seals in the shallows. Bring binoculars! The lighthouse is fenced in and not open but for what 10 days out of the year. Its also placed in land from where you would expect. Steep walk down to the beach via wooden stairs, not sure that there is accessibility for those that can't, or beach wheelchairs. Also bathrooms were portas, not cleaned often enough. So go before you arrive! Bring snacks. Options are limited!

Actual working lighthouse = that's cool! We had heard this lighthouse was the one on Cape Cod chips, but I don't know. It's close. Either way, we loved it and the fact that it was up on a hill allowed us the ability to look way out to sea. It is a bit of a walk to the water, but you can walk way out on the peninsula and there was a lot of wildlife and flowers to look at and great parking. Please take note of beach rules, but plan on taking some time and enjoying the history provided about the Mayflower and the area.

This is a nice lighthouse. I went here while visiting Cape Cod and was satisfied with my experience. This is a short, beautiful lighthouse with an attached light keeper’s house. This lighthouse is located inside of a Coast Guard station, so you can only view it from behind a short white fence about 3 feet away. This lighthouse is near a beautiful beach and barrier island. I gave this lighthouse five stars because it’s a beautiful lighthouse. There’s also an old Coast Guard rescue boat on display nearby as well.

Great stop to combine with a visit to Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge (5 minutes away). I recommend visiting in the off-season though. It can be a zoo in peak season since there's limited parking and the roads are all two-lane and narrow. The lighthouse itself was not accessible but great photo opportunities abound. The new naturally re-sculpted harbor-to-ocean channel and beach offer boating and free swimming. There are numerous trails available in this area for walking. Chatham truly is a beautiful town!

An awesome space to enjoy the sea, and appreciate a history lesson of the United States. There is wheelchair accessible parking conveniently located to the beach and lighthouse viewing. To our experience we could not access the beach via a ramp. There were long steps and no beach sand mats to allow mobility aids to easily go over the sand. It is still a beautiful sight to see. The lighthouse was closed when we visited so we could only appreciate it from outside the gates. It was still wonderful to see!
