There are so many things wrong with this restaurant. It is shameful and offensive that they consider this an "experience." I will list a few. The portions are MICROSCOPIC. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. You are forced to purchase the 4 course prix fixe at $195 PER PERSON not including tax or tip. And there is no kid's option (oh except for the $150 spaghetti dish alone). So it costs over $700 with tax and tip for 2 adults and 1 child to eat. And the server appeared bothered that we even asked about the kid's options, claiming the chef would have to make a special exception. The portions are so microscopic that after 4 whole courses, I was hungry when I left the restaurant and had to eat when I got home. For example, the steak option included two pieces of steak that measured approximately 2 inches by a half inch - give or take (was it even a couple of ounces?). It was so offensive, I considered sending it back and asking if it was a joke. The actual plates are enormous but the food served on them takes up a few inches in the middle. You wouldn't even know if the food tastes good since you are done after a couple bites. There are no windows in the restaurant, it feels like a large closet. Did I mention it cost over $700 for 3 people to eat a terribly disappointing, highly unfulfilling meal and we left hungry? So we ate at several high end restaurants during our stay in the Chatham area. What I found is that the other high end hotels on the water - there are two in particular - served generous portions for far far far less money. Even the prix fixe menu at the other resort (north of town) was less than half the cost, twice the food, with exceptional views and much friendlier service. And the food was incredible at that resort. Cuvee has NONE of this. I feel terribly ripped off, like the whole staff is laughing at us for being fooled into eating here. It really is a joke of a restaurant and I feel quite foolish for falling for it. However, going in I never would have imagined any restaurant taking advantage of customers the the way this restaurant does. I guess it appeals to people who like to show off how much money they have and how little they care about throwing it away, without getting much in return. Please do yourself a favor and steer very clear of this place. There are so many better options within just a few minutes of Cuvee that are fair and delicious with much friendlier service. FYI I don't need my utensils changed after every plate, or juice hand poured over everything by the "spoon swapping guy". I just need quality food, fair portions, and prices that are not absolutely ridiculous. I have eaten at many high end exclusive restaurants in NYC for far less than Cuvee costs. What a joke. Hopefully this saves a hard working family from making the same mistake we made. And lastly, add a kid's option like every other restaurant on the planet - don't charge $200 for a 10...
Read moreThe restaurant itself is located in the back part of the hotel. Ambiance is nice however there is no view of the outside. Beautifully decorated however think of a large conference room with dining tables where noise of other guests travels.
We were served complimentary sparkling wine which was a nice touch. New chef that was personable when he came out to check on tables. Tasting menu was very creative, beautifully presented and delicious, some temperature issues from the slower service.
Wine pairing were unique to include a few champagne and cider wines to pair with our meal. This is where the sommelier tests the boundaries. He has quite the personality and his pairings while it did compliment some of the dishes, didn’t impress on its own.
I do appreciate the creativity that he brought but depending on one’s palate, it might not fit what you would normally expect from a fine dining french restaurant. Portions were definitely generous though. Looking back at the pairing, most of the wines seemed to be at a lower price point than expected which left me a wondering if the extra cost for wine pairing was of good value. I would not recommend the pairing rather just selecting your own wine so you know what to expect.
The cheese course was a huge disappointment and I would not recommend it. Service was fine but seemed a little slow and disjointed.
Overall, the meal was delicious and the experience just okay. At the higher price point of almost $1000 for two. I don’t feel it met our...
Read moreI am not sure where to begin. This culinary evening has to be the single greatest dining experience we have ever had, and we have had many. The Restaurant itself is cozy and beautiful (only 10 tables.) But we weren’t in the restaurant. No, we were at a high-top table for two in the very small kitchen along with Chef Issac and his staff of 5 enjoying the Chef’s Table.
We were no more than 5 feet away from where they were preparing our 13 course culinary experience. Each course was exquisitely presented and Chef Issac gave a detailed description of every ingredient, every sauce etc.
The two wait-staff Luz and Elena were present and attentive. Sommelier Sebastian would bring out the paired wine….. about 2-3 ounces with each course and a thorough description of each wine.
During the entire 4 hour experience we were conversing with Chef, his sous chef Raphael and others. Chef Issac has an amazing team: Raphael, Cameron, Grant, Lewis and pastry chef Whitney. I have done my best to give you a picture of the evening, but I am afraid that words simply don’t come close to the experience. I know that we will be back for one of their 4 course or 7 course...
