Pretty nice hike 7.2 miles total round trip. It’s listed as a Moderate trail but I would say it’s in between easy & moderate. Make sure you pace yourself but it’s definitely worth the view. There are several decent sized trees down on the path but I enjoyed myself. I ran into a copperhead that was hiding under some rocks you have to climb up so be mindful of where you’re stepping. Also seen some cool bugs and some funky looking mushrooms (don’t touch). It took me and my party about 3 hours we did go off exploring some of the other trails on the way up. There also isn’t a lot of parking the trail wasn’t crowded since there are 4 other trails to take but the parking lot was. Hikes on my...

The hike from the Rainbow Park trailhead to Edward's point is listed as moderate, but I feel like that's only accurate if you are an avid hiker. I'm in my 30s and not overweight and I would consider the hike grueling or very strenuous, but I'm not an avid hiker. We passed several people in there 60s who were struggling big time. It's a lovely view, but not recommended for a casual day hike. We also passed people without water, which concerned me. My boyfriend and I drank a liter of water each, and we were being conservative so we wouldn't run out. At a normal pace it took us about 3 hours round trip which included 15 minutes of chill time at the top. Hiking boots definitely...

Excellent! Beautiful sights and a good workout. We started at the trailhead location at Ohio Avenue. The trail to Edward's Point Overlook has trees marked with white paint. We experienced a waterfall, running creek and Overlook views that made the challenge all worth while. We hiked the end of October 2022 and stayed at a hotel in downtown Chattanooga. The fall colors were beautiful. There are moments when you will want to take the time to place your foot carefully as you are stepping over tree roots and rocks. I twisted my ankle a couple times, but never injured myself. This usually happened when I was...

Great hike. Can get a bit technical at times, but nothing serious or challenging. You can take your dog or even your kids if they've got a hike or two under their belts already. The view from Edwards Point is great. Total time on trail was just over 3 hours, including a half hour at Edwards Point and a couple of water stops on the way in and out. Wouldn't recommend starting this hike in mid/late afternoon until June/July when summer daylight lasts until 9pm.
