I’m writing to share my recent experience at your salon in hopes of finding a resolution. A friend recommended your nail salon and although I’m not from Cheshire I made the 25-minute drive to have my nails done with her because I was excited to try your dip powder services. We both had our nails done on September 18th. Unfortunately, the next day (September 19th) one of my nails popped off while I was simply typing at work. I returned that day to have it fixed. That weekend, while I was away two more nails broke and chipped. When I returned on September 23rd, I came back again to have those repaired. The technician who helped me was very pleasant and professional but she mentioned that I shouldn’t have chosen dip powder and instead recommended UV gel — after I had already spent $80 on the dip service. That was a bit surprising and disappointing to hear as I was under the impression that dip was a durable option and had chosen it based on that understanding. Since I’m not in Connecticut on weekends, I tried calling on Monday September 29th and again on Tuesday September 30th but couldn’t reach anyone. I finally got through today (October 1st) only to be told that nothing could be done since more than two weeks had passed and that dip doesn’t last very long — which contradicts both my previous experiences and general expectations for dip powder. I’ve had dip manicures before and have never had nails chip or break so soon — especially not within 24 hours of application. I truly wanted to support your business and was hoping for a better experience. I understand policies are in place but I believe this situation may warrant an exception or at least another conversation about...
Read moreI used to come here all the time, but the past two times I have been there have been less than lovely. The first of the two I ended up asking to change my nail color after they were done, which I already felt terrible about and made sure to tip accordingly, but the man who did my nails was very rude and did a pretty low quality job on the second color because he was visibly rushing. The second of the two times I picked out my color and my technician told me three times before she started that she knew I changed color last time and if I was sure I wanted the one I picked that day. I answered politely each time that I know I changed color but I wanted the one I chose. Throughout the entire service she was yanking my wrists and hands to the point where it would hurt (I know they re-position when they need to but it was more aggressive than re-positioning.) Lastly, I didn't have cash that day so I used their ATM because they said in full confidence there was no fee. I just got my bank statement and there was a fee from Paradise for $2.50.
They used to be very nice and polite every time I would go in; I don't know if management has changed or it's different people working there, but I'd recommend spending your...
Read moreI admit that I am hard to please. When I pay for a service I expect excellence...I can't help it! Needless to say - excellence and perfection are almost impossible to find. Stephen (the owner of this salon) did my nails this morning and he is the absolute best nail tech I've ever worked with. He listened to what I wanted, he executed what I wanted and he did so with a smile! A true professional! I can tell he takes pride in his business which is refreshing. This place was impeccably clean, the staff was friendly and I'm just thrilled that I finally found a place I can go to regularly! I highly recommend this salon!
side note - I do the coffin shape, stiletto shape, almond shape kind of nails. so, yes, Stephen CAN do these shapes. If you're looking for someone who can do this - this...
