Wason Pond — Attraction in Chester

Was here for the wason pond pounder obstical course race. Great venue, well run race. Would recommend for all levels. As for the area itself, looks like a nice place to bring the family for a picnic and to splash around in the pond. They have a playground, though it looks a little dated. They have some nice trails for walking or running, though they don't look like they are well marked, so be aware of your surroundings. Went for a swim on a hot summer day. The small beach was freely open to the public. The water is shallow and appeared a faint orange color which can be a sign of oxidization due to algae or bacteria, or could be tanins from decomposing leaves or wood.
