I grew up one block from here and the mansion was just a part of everyday life. It was a bed and breakfast for awhile and I use to love staying there. It was used as a hospital during the civil war where they would amputate and toss the limbs onto a wagon outside the window and there are still blood stains on some of the hardwood floors.
