I have been coming here since I was really young and have a lot of fond memories about this area. I love the small pier you can walk out on, the bayside beaches, the walking path from one end to the other.

I especially love the wind sculpture near the marina offices. I have brought my family often over the past decade or so, since we discovered it. It's a great place to practice mindfulness and mediation, although the construction on the hotel kind of negates the peaceful vibes (temporary), as well as the dock master's flagpole chain clanking. Although it adds to a mindfulness aspect, it's jarring and you lose focus on the sound from the sculpture. Sadly, in recent years, it has been neglected and some strings have been damaged or missing. I really hope they attend to fixing this up. And I hope they don't get rid of it.

There are other art installations on both sides of the marina area (the J St Marina Park to the south has them as well). There are chess/checkers tables in various locations, and many of them have been recently redone, and one (or maybe more?) already vandalized.

Fishing is allowed on the pier.

On the side of the park south of the marina (J St Marina Park), we felt less comfortable due to a large section of homeless camps and trash. There was also a man passed out on the sidewalk and we had to walk around him. (We hoped he was just sleeping.) If my kids were young again, I wouldn't be able to let them play without close supervision. As it was, I had a hard time taking my teenagers there—they kept wanting to check out what people had left behind there.

There would have been 5 stars if the southern side felt safer. 4 stars is generous. If there wasn't a lot I loved, it...

Chula Vista's Bayside Park is a hidden gem that captivates visitors with its breathtaking views of the iconic Coronado Island, the majestic Coronado Bridge, and the vibrant San Diego skyline. Nestled along the waterfront, the park serves as a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty that surrounds them. The scenic walking paths meander through lush landscapes, providing an ideal setting for leisurely strolls, morning jogs, or simply enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. As you wander along these paths, you can take in the sights and sounds of the bay, making it a perfect spot for both solitude and reflection.

In addition to its picturesque views and tranquil atmosphere, Bayside Park boasts ample space for picnics, making it an excellent choice for gatherings with friends and family. The well-maintained grassy areas are perfect for spreading out a blanket and enjoying a meal al fresco, while the nearby picnic tables offer a more structured setting for larger groups. Families can often be seen playing games, while friends gather to celebrate special occasions, all against the backdrop of stunning sunsets that paint the sky in vibrant hues. Whether you’re planning a casual get-together or a more formal celebration, Bayside Park provides the perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities, ensuring that every visit...

This is a park I've gone to many times as I am from the area. The park itself is nice. Several places to sit, lovely grass that overlooks the water, and just the beauty of the area. The bathrooms have always been bad so I assume they still are despite me not using them today. I was very unhappy with the play structure of the playground. One slide was blocked off and the majority of the play structure is not fit for a young toddler. Ny son could only go up the stairs and down one slide. Most of the kids were taking turns despite their young age. It did work out then. It wasn't working out when older kids were around as they took over the small slide since the big one was out of commission. I also absolutely hate the rubber to sand. My son, the other kids, and I kept slipping and tripping as we stepped on it to go from the mat area.to the sand and vice versa. The stairs were at the rubber. The slide let off on the sand. I had to help my son scoot to the edge of the slide, so I was going back and forth. I also wish there was a bit of fencing sonkods cannot take off to the parking lot that is...

Chula Vista Bayside Park is a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful escape by the water. With ample parking available, it’s easy to access and start exploring this well-maintained park. The layout offers a delightful mix of sand, grassy areas, paved paths, and a simple trail along the waterside, providing plenty of options for walking, relaxing, or simply soaking in the coastal views. The park is incredibly dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot for a longer walk with your furry friend. The waterfront paths are ideal for stretching your legs while enjoying the fresh breeze and sparkling water. Richard, my Shiba Inu, loved trotting along the path, taking in all the new scents and sights. Convenient public restrooms are available, which is always a bonus for a park visit. Whether you’re there for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or just to enjoy the tranquil environment, Chula Vista Bayside Park has something for everyone. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, reconnect with nature, and share quality time with your dog or loved ones. Highly recommend!

This is what I've named my favorite place on Earth. It really isn't that different compared to other Bayside parks in San Diego. But this one on the Chula Vista marina became my favorite praying spot. It's usually not crowded unless you go on a weekend during summer time. The reason why I like it so much is because when you're facing the water, to your right you can see Coronado's bridge and downtown San Diego and to your left you can see playas de Tijuana. Being a Mexican American, to be able to thank God for both nations while seeing them both from the same spot as I pray, is priceless... Literally, because it's a public park :). It has a lot of green areas, a playground, a pier, a sand court, and other nice things to see. There's also an RV park (resort) next to it and since it's so close to the freeway and fairly close to downtown Chula Vista I believe it's pretty convenient for families with small children and for those who are looking for new places to walk their dogs.

Stunning views of the San Diego Harbor with downtown to the North and the hills of Tijuana to the south. Cool off shore breezes bless the boardwalk and sprawling lawn area. Join the gaggle of shore fishermen. Cast a line and try your luck; Who knows, maybe you'll be bring dinner home instead of calling in an order. Pack a cooler with refreshments and perhaps a blanket to picnic on. The warm San Diego sunshine make for the perfect al fresco meal or snack. Need to use the restroom? Don't dig a hole we have got you covered. The facilities are up to date and easy to find.
