I would give it a 5 star if it was not for the two things, 1- There is always one of the large dog fields closed for “maintenance”. I’m not sure how much maintenance besides cutting grass a field needs, but they do keep it very nice there. 2- This could or couldn’t fall on being the parks fault, but I STRONGLY disagree with allowing small toddlers, strollers with infants inside the dog park with all those dogs. There are so many dogs, including one of my daughters dogs, who are scared of small loud kids and don’t want or like them unfortunately. Not to mention the dogs of that child being overprotective and if another dog gets too close it could get bad. I understand parents who want to take their dogs and kids out, but they should not be allowed in the dog park with strollers and kids under 2yrs. There are very few dog parks out there but there are a MILLION parks for kids. I have had to leave many times because I didn’t want to chance my dog or a child getting hurt. So I implore parents of small kids not to bring them inside the dog park where there are 20-30 different dogs with different sensitivities, it’s not fair to the dog owners that don’t want to chance it. There is a playground at this park too. There is also a field across the ear that is for dogs that don’t get along with others that can be used. There needs to be a sign on this field tho that says if in use, please don’t enter if another dog is in there unless asking the dog owner!! Besides this it’s a huge beautiful park. People need to keep their dogs on a leash outside the...
Read moreFirst, we were there after dark for a night hike to look/listen for owls. This was through the Great Parks. I can't really grade on the park itself. The program was pretty lame. I am a big fan of Great Parks programs. This fell through, though. I hope it was because, like all other businesses right now, they were short staffed. We didn't see any owls. There were two faint owl sounds heard, but my husband witnessed one of them coming quietly from one of the hikers. There was no talk of owls and their habitats and no information about that park in particular. The highlights were talking about a Snowy owl spotted in downtown Cincinnati, looking at what probably were squirrel nests and (oh. my. goodness.) the guide checking inside a bird house (which is there for the SONG birds) to make sure there wasn't an owl inside. No owl in this area could come close to fitting in there. I totally understand that the chances of not finding an owl could be high. It would be hit or miss. But certainly there could at least have been some sort of educational...
Read moreWill update my ranking once I can actually go but the park is flooded! Like the whole damn thing!!! I drove up to it thinking I was at the lake entrance only to find out that the whole entire park was flooded! I was flabbergasted to say the least and will update this review when I can finally go but needless to say I was scornwaggled yesterday afternoon!
Edit: What a redemption story. This park has nice smooth paved trails weaving in and out of nature. Very dog friendly and the trails actually go by the gorgeous little Miami (what a treat)! Have not seen my ex wife here once and I fear after leaving this review she will show up but honestly, I don’t care anymore. This park has made me worry free and I recommend it to anyone looking to take a nice relaxing walk! Sheryl if you’re reading this I’d love to give it another shot, meet me on...
