Falls View Park offers visitors scenic views of the Cohoes Falls. The park is four acres and has an upper and lower viewing areas. To get to the viewing areas you have to cross a 192 foot pedestrian bridge. The park is well kept and neat. There is a parking lot located across the street from the park. The falls are spectacular. The top half the park gives you a nice views of the falls from above. The lower half park gives you a nice view from down below. To get to the lower half follow the staircase down. Though both views are nice, there are some trees that obscure the views. To get a great picture from the lower half you have half to hold your camera up over a chain-link fence and the trees behind it. It would be nice if a viewing platform was added to the park of the park to get a clear view of the falls. Some trees also get in the way on the upper viewing area as well. Cohoes Falls is the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River and is a must see in the Capital Region. The park is easy to access and it is easy to spend a few hours...

I came across these falls when searching for waterfalls on the map and saved the destination for when I’d be in the area. It seems like there are maybe a couple of other view points but I liked that this had a paved walk towards a lovely panoramic view. The walk is short, about .5mi round trip. There are stairs (85 steps) that one would have to descend/ascend. If that’s not an option for some visitors, there are a couple of view points from the top of the park when you first cross the bridge over the Mohawk River. This was a quiet spot to relax, enjoy the view, fish if you desired or have a lunch. Handicap accessible fishing spots from the top, and an additional location down the stairs. I sat and enjoyed the view for some time as I watched birds flying and a few Great Blue Herons along the shoreline of the river eating. Such a...

One of the best places to go in Cohoes. The park is amazing but closed off in winter months. Timing can be found near the entrance.

The park basically carries one to the spill way of the hydro power plant which is a couple hundred feet below the asphalt pavement one parks their vehies on.

Actually, there is a small parking lot opposite the park entrance so parking usually, is not an issue.

The park starts from a bridge that goes over the canal/river then a winding road down and finally a loooong stair case then more winding road and finally ends at a nice platform over the spill way. You get good exercise from the whole thing.

NOT recommended for people with...
