Escape Room Clarion — Attraction in Clarion

Received confirmation e-mail the morning of our booking and then drove approximately 90 minutes one way to empty/closed building. Called and messaged the owner multiple times before getting a reply. Apparently they use an automated system for booking and never check it. They were in fact closed and we booked a few weeks ahead of time. She apologized, said she'd refund and give us two free rooms to make up for the mistake. Free rooms never happened at all. Looking at the other reviews I'd say this a common issue. At least one of the good reviews is from the gym sharing the building and I suspect the other good reviews are friends and family. Terrible experience overall. I'd say the only way someone should attempt this escape room is if they live close and just do a walk in. Booking is pointless.

Edit: 1/6/20 Removed section about refund. Refund was indeed prompt, delay apparently was on the credit card...

Reservations were made weeks in advance to do the Harry Potter themed room. We drove 90 min one way to get there only to arrive at a building that was completely dark and looked like it wasn’t even a business. We immediately tried calling phone numbers and FB messages and initially got no response. Eventually we got a response that they were sorry but that they had no idea reservations had been made and that they were not it the area to even come open it. We were told they would give our group a refund and tickets to do two rooms for free. We got the refund but no free passes were ever given. After seeing other reviews it is obvious that the so called business does this...

Having teenagers means I basically live alone until someone is hungry or wants something. Planning a day for my family to do an escape room and then throwing axes was the BEST DECISION EVER. Imagine your teens smiling, laughing, GETTING ALONG and WORKING TOGETHER! It was a beautiful sight to behold! I didn't think it was possible, and then the most amazing thing ever happened: they were off of their cellphones and engaged in wholesome family time for a few HOURS! Thank you, Escape Room Clarion, for being so awesome, my boys WANT to spend time with me and do it again!! ;) Money well spent, so much fun, can't wait to do...
