My post is long overdue, but my daughter has been going to CSOFA for a while now and she loves it. Before she started going to Clarksville School of Fine Arts she was not very social and didn't have many friends. She has since started coming out of her shell & being more social as well as an active participant. She continuously tells me how Mr Gabriel and his staff are very encouraging with her. Reading the previous reviews was somewhat unnerving because I have not experienced any disrespect towards myself or my child and I have not felt uncomfortable in any way, shape, or form during our time there. Mr Gabriel has been nothing but understanding, compromising, and professional!! I found it very disrespectful to speak about someone's health issues when you know absolutely nothing about it. And of course with myself being diabetic as well, I can understand why he might need to eat something from time to time to keep his blood sugar in check. So please, let's not bad mouth anybody until we've walked in their shoes. I'm glad that there was no eating or drinking allowed in the theater. I don't think it hurts the children to refrain from bringing food and drink into the theater for the short time that they are there. And when they are there for longer periods of time (plays & rehearsals) Mr Gabriel has always provided a lunch break or some down time for the children to eat and rest.
As for Mr Gabriel yelling at anybody, I have never heard him speak in any hateful manner to the children. If your children are running all over the place (like I have witnessed on multiple occasions) and not listening, then TEACH YOUR CHILDREN how to act in public, that is not his job. And he should not have to remind the kids and get on to the kids about behaving properly in HIS place of business. Your children should already know how to conduct themselves properly in public, so this one is on you parents!! Teach your kids how to act!! Let's stop with all the nitpicking and angry rants because some of y'all got your feelings got hurt. Regardless of what anybody else has said my experience there has been nothing but a good one and my daughter is thriving in his environment and I am very appreciative that Mr Gabriel is providing an encouraging, and positive learning experience for my child!!! Thank you Mr Gabriel for all...
Read moreI enrolled my son for culinary classes and he liked his teacher but all he made was a pie filling, green beans, and mash potatoes for $100 plus $20 for registration. He only had three classes because they changed the dates to a weekend. You could come if you wanted to but if you couldn’t that was okay too, you just had to pay for the class anyway. He did go but only made the mash potatoes and they counted that as a 2 class day. December is the same way so we quit. They changed the dates and again if you could make that fine but if not you pay anyway. Plus there were only 3 weeks for classes. And there are no makeup days if you get sick. Cooking at home from now on!...
Read moreTwo of my daughters started attending the school in October. We love Mr Gabe! I love that he uses the classical model to teach but I love even more, that he’s great at making his students feel comfortable and secure in their learning. He has been encouraging, while pushing them to do more. He’s fun to be around and I was always welcome in the classroom with my kids. We just had our performances with the school and I love how kid-centered the program was....
