Park brings back memories of a time before safety. Which I'm not saying is a bad thing, one of the last remaining parks with a few things of old. Some new equipment as well. I like to stroll the paths and look at all the different landscaping.

Zoo is what you'd expect for a free zoo, which again isn't necessarily a bad thing. Where else in Kansas can you just say I think I'll go see a bear? On the bear point the black bear seemed to love that we came and wanted to show off by running quickly over to the tree and climbing to the top to stand on it.

I realize that renovations are being planned, but these animals have been tortured and neglected for years in this same condition. How many more years are they going to suffer while anything new is built? If...

An amazing variety of animals, and amazing to see that it does so well that new enclosures are being built.

Make this a stop on your list, bring a sack lunch and enjoy what the local residents have provided...
