Tasty Pastry Bakery & Coffee — Restaurant in Clay Center

I live in junction City, about 32 miles from clay center, i tried the tasty pastry bakery in clay center and boy let me tell u, when u walk in, it looks like an old time bakery, so cozy!!! Everything in it's place, clean tables friendly staff that treats u like family, always welcomes any questions u have just amazing service, always smiling, makes u feel very welcomed, it smells so good the moment u walk threw the door, fresh coffee fresh donuts and pastries, all are delicious but my favorite favorite is the red velvet with cream cheese I asked if I can pre-order them and yes the gladly took my order, overall I would give it more stars if I was able, I found my new pastry bakery, and definitely will be driving 32 miles one way for their pastries, I hope they never close down, just love that place, it's definitely worth the drive , I highly recommend this place definitely WILL be returning, they definitely got...

I grew up in Clay Center and this is the place I always compare donuts and rolls to. I have yet found anything better than these. My favorite are the nut rolls, maple sticks, and the chocolate logs or rolls when they are filled with pudding type of center. My son’s favorite is the chocolate donuts. I haven’t lived there in years but when I’m in town I always stop by. When my boys lived at home they always made sure we stopped when in town. Excellent homemade donuts! However, the interior is in desperate need of a renovation. My mom worked here when she was in high school in the mid 80's, and it still has the same flooring, same countertops, same wall decor, and everything. Invest in your business. Just having good donuts isn't all there is to it. Probably the only reason they can get away without renovating is because the main people who go there and hang around inside are all old people.
