I did not get to explore the park itself, though what I drove through was gorgeous. My agenda was to find the fenced in dog park. Their dog park is by far the best one I have been to. My dogs would agree. You can buy a year pass for only $35. Otherwise they offer day passes. It is an honor system in which they request $4 for one dog and an additional $1 for a second dog. What a deal! The place is not tax funded and only operates off the donations. I gave extra! The dog park was at one time a zoo..I saw 3 fenced areas, one with water. We are saving that for summer. One for older or less active dogs. There is supposedly an area for small dogs. We went to the big dog area. It was fully fenced and a huge space. There were enclosures reminding you it was once a zoo but it adds to the beauty of the place. The dogs loved it. There were paths to run through. Areas to explore and best of all, a pump for fresh water! Lots of trees for shade. Ample supplies of poop bags and garbage cans. Did I mention, best...

This is a very old city park. The park is very well maintain and the views over the Mississippi are fantastic, looking out over the lake formed by Lock and Dam 13. There is a overlook tower, that kids love that is built of stone with stone steps going up. There is a stone bridge built over a deep ravine. My grandsons used to love playing on the bridge. The park has a newly remodeled lodge with a large outdoor patio, where they can have weddings. The lodge has a kitchen and nice bathrooms, perfect for family get to gathers, with a beautiful view of the river. Also there are 2 nice playgrounds, and an additional roofed area for picnics. Great place for...

We came out for the Christmas lights this year. We have been to see them a handful of times in the past & the last time was 2021. At that time the lights were run down and some were even broken. We were very disappointed. We decided to come again this year, since we now have 3 kiddos (6, 4 and 2) & I was so pleased to see that the lights had been fixed. It was so beautiful and reminded me of when I was a kid & came to see the lights for the very first time. Simply magical.

Heads up... there is a fee ($10 per car) to get in and see the lights.

As for the park itself, we have been to it on a normal day too... They keep it very clean & the castle...

Eagle Point park is one of the nicest city parks in Iowa! Great view of the Mississippi at lock and dam 13. Lots of places for the kiddos to play. The waterfall has recently been repaired and provides a beautiful backdrop for your special photos. The castle, the walk Bridge and waterfall and lodge area were built by the WPA in the 1930-1940s. The beautiful lodge is a wonderful place for weddings and other memorable occasions. We visit the park 1-2 times per week with our two dogs who love the safety of the off-leash dog park.

Quick stop at Eagle Point Park was quite a delight. We were happy that you could drive right to the castle & park. There was a poster about times & days for a guided tour. We did a quick climb to the top (stairs are pretty easy) - the view is fabulous! We drove over by the lodge & the rock bridge as well. We also saw that there was quite the dog park with water & a sprinkler. We'll come back & bring the dog next time - it looked pretty cool.

Eagle point is a Clinton Iowa landmark. People have been going there for decades. It has hiking trails, beautiful views, wonderful wooded areas, equipment for children, an event center for gatherings, and a neat limestone castle. This is a great place to bring your children for a play date or to take family pictures. I have been all over this park for picnics, weddings, hikes and picnics. It is a must see if you are in Clinton.
