Thousand Islands — Attraction in Cocoa Beach

This is a great place for kayaking with lots of mangroves and the manatees hang out not far from the boat launch. The kayak rental place delivers kayaks right to a local church. If you launch from there, this is where the manatees are located. The channel is not marked well but go to your right and stay right and you'll get to a whole new spot where there is an island with a small dock you can pull kayaks up onto island. Loved the water and mangroves. The kayak launch was great, close to parking and easy to launch. The bathrooms were locked even though we were there during hours where they were supposed to be open. There were 3 portable units there but there was no tissue or facilities to wash your hands or even sanitize them. Today was the air show so we had an extra treat with the planes...

I have been here 3 times on my kayak to go fishing after being told there was endless reds to catch, and so far it’s not living up to the hype.
