The place is great the people are not so wonderful! It's an amazing park with lots of different terrain and great trails. Lots of people here like to leave their dogs off leash and pretend they didn't see it happen. They also let their dogs run at you while your dog is on a leash and there's not much you can do about it except yell at their dog while they pretend it fine. You can ask them to leash their dog. Many of them will say "yea" and still not do it. I was there for about an hour and a half with my son and my small dog. We had 5 dogs come at us, off leash, while their owner either pretended not to see it, or said, "oh he normally doesn't do that..." they need some back lash for that. I will be telling everyone I know to bring protection because you may have to shoot someone's dog if they come at you. I will also be carrying protection if I go there again. I will shoot a dog that comes at me and my dog especially if they are coming at me aggressively. 4 stars because they need some sort of patrolling or something to make people be good humans and leash their dogs.

Beautiful trails in the middle of Colorado Springs! The wide, pretty flat trail labeled Mesa trail is the one where you can have unleashed dogs. The other trails they have to be leashed. Not everyone follows the rules as we have had dogs run up to us on the leashed trails (there is sufficient signage). So just a heads up. But there are stunning and interesting rock formations and views of the city and front range. Worth a visit!

Off leash dog trails with great views of the city and mountains. What more can you want? But if you did, it also has wide paths that you can easily push a stroller on, bike, jog, chase your dog as your dog chases other dogs and balls and rabbits... loads of fun just waiting in central Colorado Springs, on top of it all. Dog had a blast, we had a blast. Sold.

Update! I do really love this park and so do my dogs but PET OWNERS PAY ATTN! IF YOU HAVE 3-4 DOGS OFF LEASH BOMBARDING 1 DOG THERE ARE GOING TO BE PROBLEMS! You can't possibly have control of your 3-4 dogs. Teach your dogs to sniff and move along. Especially if that dog is on a leash and may be reactive. I see a lot of this. Dogs are territorial by nature. My dogs keep it moving and so do I, I am in control of mine. Just because it's off leash does not mean you don't discipline or teach your dogs to obey your commands. There's a lot of dogs just wanting to play and I get that but my 10 year old does not want to play or be jumped on. Thankfully he's not aggressive but they're are some that are and I don't like to see these situations arise. PLEASE TAKE BETTER CARE AND TEACH YOUR DOGS TO LISTEN. 4 DOGS FROM THE SAME PACK AGAINST 1 IS NOT OK! This park is absolutely beautiful! So many trails and levels of difficulty, all with stunning views. If you want an actual hike, I like the Templeton to Elda Mae. If you want a walk, stay on the main path. I love this way more than a caged dog park. My dogs feel freedom here! Sniffing all the butts and meeting all the friendly people, this place is...

I love this place for my dogs. But please, be on the lookout for a man in a leather vest that has a golden retriever and carries a walking stick. I encountered him on the off leash area. He hit my dog with the stick because she looks like a pit bull. My dog is now cowering when family members go to pet her on the head. She is the sweetest puppy, and loves to play. She lives in a house with two other dogs, and four kids. She's never shown food aggression, dog aggression or toy aggression. The attack was absolutely unprovoked. The man said that he hit her because she was getting too close to his dog and his dog had been attacked by a pit bull in the past. If you see this man, please call the police. He...
