I have played the playground for about an hour and a half. They have three different play areas within the same distance, and two sets of swings. Definitely a park for all ages. Lots of places to sit and watch your Kiddos. Also, a good amount of parking to accommodate the amount of people who were there.
Then we went and drove up to the top of Palmer park to walk the trails. I love how dog friendly the place is even though we did not have a dog. The kids absolutely enjoyed seeing all the animals, and you could just see the happiness on the dogs faces being off leash and running around.
We took a long walk down the hillside, and then into the tree lines. The trail was great. It had been raining for the past few days and it was not too muddy, but it was definitely muddy in some spots.
Entrails also used by biking groups and we encountered a couple while we were a few miles in.
We walked back up to the top, and then we drove down to Lot 12 to look and climb the rocks.
The kids had so much fun and would definitely recommend this park. For kiddos who do not have a bunch of hiking experience. This was a great park to get their feet wet. It gives lots of beautiful views, and the trail really feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere instead of in the...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs! Such an amazing time every time I go! The nature is beautiful and the trails do not interfere with the beauty and awe of the wild life. There is a nice spot for the dogs as well as a field if you are just looking to relax or play some games. Amazing spot to mountain bike with terrain ranging from beginner up to I would estimate about expert but not professional. If you are the most hard core mountain biker you would enjoy it but may find yourself wanting that extra thrill, however for the average person you would be able to find paths that give you exactly what you want. The park does not seem very big until you begin to hike it in full. Also make sure you get to the overlook for an AMAZING view of Pike's Peak in the distance and the entire city! Absolutely breath taking and you can drive and park at the overlook if you do not feel like hiking to it! There are some really awesome little caves to find all around but just respect wild life and the park bounds since there are some homes that you may not realize you are trespassing on. Over all if you are in the Springs check...

This is a must stop every time we visit Colorado Springs. Located within a suburban area you wouldn’t expect to run into this park unless you were looking for it. This little oasis offers a getaway from the normal day to day routine and can be visited for a few minutes to hours on end. There are trails throughout the park that you can take and spend hours hiking. Or…. you can just chill out at one of the overlook parking lots and have a picnic for lunch. That’s right, I said picnic….. Bring your lunch because you may end up staying here a while enjoying the views.
The views of the mountains, Colorado Springs, and the surrounding areas to the vast plains to the west are enough to keep you mesmerized for as long as your heart desires. Take a stroll through a short trail or take one of the longer trails to spend a couple of hours.
Palmer Park is and will always be a destination every time I visit the Springs. I just hope you enjoy it as...
