Fantastic trail up to a wonderful spot to see the entire western area of Colorado Springs. There are two places to park, one is a muddy spot on your immediate right when you turn right with N Nevada Ave (you will be driving over a road level sidewalk) on the south side of the large brown painted power line tower. The other is farther up the road and is an actual parking lot that leads to a trail that circles palmer park. If you plan to reach the top of pulpit rock, be prepared to follow local-made muddy and steep trails. Doesn't matter which one you pick, they all lead to the top but I recommend following the paths that loop around the north-side of the rock formation (no barbed wire and little to no climbing). They are unkept and you WILL have to climb up some pretty steep grades and rocks! The top is a beautiful sight and well worth it. If you walk east from the top, you can find a dead tree where others have stacked rocks they brought up from the bottom (so bring a stone...

Read moreThere are 2 parking areas that are about 2/10th mile apart. I parked in the lot that is just right of the rock. It's small lot and not maintained. The lot down the road and left of the rock is about same size and condition. My Google map took me to the parking lot to the left of the rock. Go early to avoid heat and sun as there is no shade. The trail on the left is an easy walk until you get to the rock. Then it's time to climb rocks that at times are steep. There are plenty of trails on the right but none are marked nor are they taken care of. So I went up on the left side and came down on the right. Next time I will go up and come down on the right side but as I mentioned none of the trails are marked on the right side so it was hit or miss on which trail to take. Great...
