I recently started going here but I absolutely love it. Even in a wheelchair, I can get around easily, and it gives my dog an opportunity to run around, make new friends, and enjoy the outdoors. Everyone I've talked to has been extremely friendly and so have their dogs. I will say, when someone does have their dog on a leash, I feel it is polite to call your dog to you because you don't know if the other dog may be training, reactive, or anything else. It's all about community, being polite, and considerate here.

I don't know why people are calling this a dog park. Please look at the pictures. There is one of a sign showing the name as CU Boulder South not CU South dog park. The signs also say all dogs must be on a leash. My son is afraid of dogs and the majority of dog owners don't seem seem to care about following the rules. Misnaming this on Google is giving people the false impression that they are allowed to let their dogs run off leash. This is open space managed by CU.

Flat and wide trail, maintenence isn't in good conditions and a lot of dogs not on leash, the pond there seems like the dogs swimming pool.

While it's a cool concept and spot in the middle of the city, it's not designed to be a dog park, which people treat it as such. 9/10 dogs are left to roam as their owners repeatedly try to call for them while they're lost in the brush off trail. These dogs are not trail trained and cannot recall on command. If you're adamant about your dog being able to walk in peace without constant disruption, you're better off keeping your walks around your neighborhood. If you have to leash at Chautauqua, you should certainly be required to leash here unless your...
