Before Nepal House, this spot housed Nepal Cuisine, which closed because the owners retired. My family ate there at least once a week, and we were so disappointed to lose such a gem! When Nepal House appeared, I was skeptical (Nepal Cuisine really was very good!) -- but this new restaurant eclipses its predecessors.
The owners of Nepal House are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every time we go, I feel like they're genuinely thrilled to see us. That attitude, I've noticed, extends to everyone who walks in. Add that warmth to the cozy decor, and the restaurant becomes a cozy respite that makes me feel relaxed and happy to be there.
We generally opt to go for the lunch buffet, which is probably the freshest and tastiest buffet in town. Anyone can enjoy it! There are enough options to happily satisfy vegans and omnivores alike, and several dishes stand out. My favorites are the saag paneer and the zucchini pakora. My kids like the chicken tikka masala, and my husband goes crazy over the tandoori chicken. They have fabulous bitter pickled veggies on the salad bar that pair well with anything. The naan is not self serve, but that's only because they want to make sure you get it freshly made! You're asked at the beginning of your buffet journey if they should bring some straight-out-of-the-oven naan to you. After the buffet, we love to chat over a cup of hot, sweet chai (included in the buffet!) and enjoy some rice pudding. The photos speak for themselves. If you like Nepalese/Indian flavors, Nepal House is an absolute must. The only thing that could make it better for me? A dinner buffet! No matter whether you go for lunch or dinner, though, I'll be shocked if you don't...
Read moreYesterday, I tried the buffet at the new Nepal House Restaurant. Being a vegetarian, I like to have a variety of items rather than a single item lunch. Every item that I had from the buffet was delicious! The food was fresh and seasoned to perfection. I had the chana masala, zucchini n potatoes, and saag paneer as my mains. The moong dal soup was very tasty. I think they might have had masoor dal mixed in it, too. The naan bread is included with the buffet, and it was the best I've had in Boulder County, and believe me, I tried them all. The naan is baked in a tandoor oven to order and is delivered to your table. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and pleasantly soft n fluffy on the inside. Perfectly prepared naan! Also included with the buffet, they had self-serve masala chai. I really liked their keer, too. It was thick and full of rice, not soupy, such is the norm with other Indian n Nepali restaurants in the area. The gulab jamun desert was the best I've had in a long time. The restaurant is owned by a Nepali family. They serve Indian, Tibetan, and, of course, Nepali cuisine. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making sure that you are satisfied and that you have enough water. My glass was never empty. The atmosphere was clean and had an Indian/Nepali aesthetic appeal to it. I felt like I was transported from Boulder and on a vacation in another part of the world. This will be my new go to restaurant for Nepali and Indian cuisine. If you're looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend Nepal House...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Nepal house restaurant & bar and it was an unforgettable experience! The fusion of Indian and Tibetan cuisine here is simply divine. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an exceptional meal. The menu offers a delightful array of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. The momos were perfectly steamed and packed with savory goodness, while the garlic naan was the perfect accompaniment, soft and buttery with just the right amount of garlic. The bar also deserves a special mention. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the selection of drinks was impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or something more adventurous, the bartenders here have you covered. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure every detail was taken care of. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. Overall, NEPAL HOUSE is a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian and Tibetan cuisine. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly...
