This is a wonderful, well used trail that can challenge any level of hiker. You do have to pay to play, so either pay for a day pass or a state parks pass per car. This trail is a combination of exposed and shaded, be prepared with sun options. Lots of folks bring their dogs that must stay on leash. It's also very kid friendly because the hiking options that are available offer a variety of challenge for distance and ability levels. In the spring the falls are flowing and the hike is a little shorter, but still challenging ups and downs! And I love that you can make most hikes here a loop. There and back is just as lovely it just depends on the adventure you choose. Be prepared before you go into...

Great hike! Would say it's on the easier to moderate side depending on your activity level. There were 4-5 patches of the muddy area from the snowmelt but that's just because of the time of year. My 8-year-old did the hike just fine. My two-year-old was cool on many of the flat land parts but needed to be put back in the carrier for the steeper parts. The waterfall is awesome. Due to the time of year, most of the fall is frozen BUT the waterfall is still flowing, it's very beautiful. So worth it. You also have access to the top and bottom of...

Great trail for little ones. Ups and downs both ways. The falls are a refreshing treat at the mid-point of this out and back trail. Early July 2020 the falls were a trickle, but still falling. A nice spot to cool off and soak your hat for the hike back. Not a very shady trail, so bring water on a hot day even on this shorter trail. In the early morning you're almost guaranteed to see some mule deer and maybe a skunk. In the afternoon lots of raptors circling overhead looking for lunch: redtail hawks and turkey vultures.
