21 May 2022 edit.

Unfortunately the new purple park is about 1/2 of the original park. Meaning there are about 1/2 the structures for the kids to play on. Sadly the bigger kids scare off the smaller kids because of the single four story “play structure”. There is limited space in the "tower" and often over taken by bigger kids, leaving the smaller kiddos with no where to play. The powers that be, must not have kids bc they also put in a single “rope swing” that takes ups 1/2 the original park with no expansion to the original park despite plentiful open space. 1st world problems right?

I hope the city is more thoughtful in future park makeovers.

Pictures are of the park they should have built. This one is in Telluride. Thoughtfully designed to capture kids...

Nice little neighborhood park in Superior, CO. Purple Park is calm and peaceful—great for relaxing or doing some yoga. It’s really well maintained, with plenty of paved walkways for jogging or an evening stroll. There’s also a big play area for kids and a decent number of benches to just sit and chill.

There’s a pretty artificial pond in the middle, though it attracts a lot of geese—and during my recent spring visit, a "lot" of mosquitos too. I couldn’t hang around in the evening as long as I wanted because of them.

Don’t expect a massive park with trails for miles—it’s more of a cozy community spot surrounded by big houses. Still, a lovely place to unwind (just maybe bring some bug spray in...

It's a nice enough park. The playground is little far away from the parking lot, and has rocks instead of rubber or wood chips, which makes it a little difficult for my 2 year old to walk around, but there is a nice variety of equipment to play on.

My main issue with the park (why it lost a star) is the lack of maintenance that's visible. There are pieces of coating that have ripped away and the metal beneath has rusted over. Paint has worn away in several places, as well.

It just looks poorly maintained, which is unfortunate, because it's an otherwise very nice park with a beautiful green space...
