Must see place if you want to understand Howard County history. A beautiful exhibit will tell you about Black people's contributions and experiences in the county since the colonial period until today. You'll also learn about the relentless efforts of the Black community to establish and maintain the high school. And you'll feel as if you were in high school back in the 50s. But not everything is past history. The building currently houses an early childhood center and cultural events, including featured speakers and dance classes. In fact, you can rent one of its multipurpose rooms for your next event ;)

I took a tour 2 weeks ago, and found this cultural center to be so well done. The history of this building for children of color in Howard County deserves to be heard. The excellence and cultural legacy that walked through these halls deserve our respect, appreciation, and support. My family & I will go back many times so we can take our time to absorb and reflect on all of the pictures, plagues, and displays. Please bring your entire family to learn about the rich heritage of not just this building, but the entire community.

Exceptional, enlightening, surprising local experience from start to finish!! Kudos & cheers to their superb employees (staff) that were outstanding, curious, knowledgeable, informative, intriguing to successfully provide a very detailed thorough, thought provoking, surprising curious introduction perspective via well-delivered, fascinating presentation about a special, secret world that I knew/know practically nearly nothing about.. This unique, extra special Harriett Tubman Cultural Center was/is quite a beautiful, lovely, hidden gem school discovery with impressive, very detailed, factually accurate exhibits & living her/(his)story that comes into view in a wholly different way by way of very knowledgeable, interesting docent(s) like Robin who truly managed to blow-off lid on actual, truly shocking, previously unknown, alternative reality that really perfectly, uniquely reflects herstory/history in most appropriate, fitting, best way- directly from actual, original school which this H.T. Cultural Center is housed in as a living museum for local Howard County residents, visitors/guests to perfectly demonstrate 1st-hand in a courageous, meaningful, significant & impactful way a true glimpse into life for African American peeps as individuals & families throughout time. Wow! How incredibly enlightening, startling- quite an unexpectedly eye-opening, really powerful, transformative, special experience it has been for me..I'm quite certain it would/will also be for you too! Thanks. Kudos & cheers for a 1st rate, top-notch, exceptional recreation(s) with phenomenal, one-of-a-kind, unique, realistic displays artwork with amazing, cohesive contingent of superb, dynamic team that successfully, properly illuminates & highlights these extra special, noteworthy, highly-deserving souls- human beings into being fully, completely recognized & appreciated as such notable, valuable historical figures & treasures. God bless everyone with peace, friendship, unity & love & immense, divine blessings.
