When I used to live in Holly Hill up the street, I would "occasionally" come to this park since it was close to home to walk my dog. I started out going on the weekends, which means lots of large groups or families get together there. Then I started going during the weekday afternoons and that's when it started to get really uncomfortable. I saw SEVERAL men all alone sitting their parked vehicles. I saw one man go into port a potty and then saw another one go in while he was in there...
I've seen them drive around in different spots of the park, get out of their cars and walk into the woods. One time I walked down a path with my dog and saw this man in dress clothes come out of this tiny path from the woods and walked real fast to his car, then saw another man come out of the same area. Pretty sure they were doing things they shouldn't be doing. So after witnessing that, I stopped going. Now I live on the Far East side. I recommend NOT coming...
Read moreI love this park. My dogs are obssessed. Its small usually not too busy during the week. On the weekends there are lots of people(kids, dogs, or parties). Very quiet otherwise. Only downside is its very dirty. (Used codoms in the parking lot dirty) unfortunately this is the west side of Columbus where its asking to much for people to walk a few feet to one of the many many many trash cans or dumpsters. Best part LOTS OF DEER!..and birds. If you enjoy sitting outside or wandering through the woods but aren't an expert this is a good place. Its very hard to get lost (everything goes in a big circle)....if u have kids WATCH THEM!! Definitely some creeps that come time to time. Police station is located at the park entrance ..not sure if this park is considered 420 friendly but I've never been told otherwise, others smoke here and doesn't seem to be a problem for those that keep...
Read moreMy husband and myself (40s) were looking at a map near the entrance of this park when a police officer got nasty with us, telling us to MOVE, keep moving, etc. It would have been better if he asked us if we needed directions. We were being safe by pulling into the park instead of looking at a map from the road. We had to drive deep into the park to turn around and I'm glad we did. This is a severely underutilized space I've never heard of a city police department using park land for a sub station. We were there exactly 8 minutes and in those 8 minutes we were given stern looks by no less than 7 police officers. I feel badly for visitors to Columbus as they may fee like they are visiting a militarized police state when they are just looking to relax in...
