Pollo Perucho — Restaurant in Columbus

I had a bad experience at this place. I’ve asked for the arroz chaufa con mariscos which is a fried rice with seafood. The plate came and it had hot dog and chicken, no seafood at all. This was around 1pm and this dish was on a chalkboard like a special for the day. The waitress already knew they messed up because she was watch me as I tried it out and made her way back to my table when I had a negative reaction. The waitress said the ran out of seafood so they made me chicken. She did not ask me prior to choosing a plate for me.

I said whatever I guess I have to eat this. The cook or whoever the guys guy from the kitchen was making his way with a plate for my dad and turned back to the kitchen. He know we noticed so he came back to the table to tell us they got the wrong side for my dad’s plate. As I was already frustrated and growing suspicious about not having any seafood but yet still having it advertised on the chalkboard, I ask him to erase it from the chalkboard and the guy was confused because I said I was told you guys ran out.

He went back the waitress came out telling me that she told me I wasn’t going to be charged for seafood but chicken instead like 3 times. I told her “you told me there was no seafood”, she responded with another lie that the seafood was frozen. At that point she I realized this person has a lying problem and doesn’t take accountability. I told her I should have been told my options to either get the plate I wanted or something else instead of making some I didn’t ask for. All she said at the end was “my fault” and walked away.

Zero customer service and the food my parents had was not very good. Save your time and money go somewhere else that takes accountability for...

Ordered the quarter chicken dark with two sides; white rice and black beans and a side of plantains. my partner ordered a fried rice dish with steak. The waitress seemed annoyed that we asked for water instead of soda or any of the other drink options My food came out about 10 to 15 min my partner’s food came out. The chicken was surprisingly dry. The rice, beans and plantains were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. I am writing this review as my partner is eating his meal. I just looked over and 15% gratuity is going to be added to the dine in bill. But if a waitress is annoyed by my order drink and the food is not coming out at the same time that is an issue of communication with the kitchen. Friendly service. Delicious food. I had the ceviche and the individual who helped me heard I had tried it in Ecuador and was quick to point out that Peruvian ceviche is different. It was definitely not "soupy" like I had in Ecuador but still had somewhat similar flavor. Each ingredient was tasty although some were separated on the plate rather than all mixed together. I appreciated the notification that my order of ceviche would take 20 minutes to make because they make it fresh. First time there and I would return. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I felt the prices were a little high. Either needed bigger portions or lower prices.
