Bumbleās Backyard is Cleoās favorite new spot! We have been coming weekly since their opening at the end of October. She now gets crazy excited once we enter the neighborhood.
The place is super clean (they are constantly picking up dog waste and spraying down pee spots), do temperament tests prior to allowing new dogs in, and we love that they enforce vaccination and neuter/spay policy (Healthy doggo = Happy doggo). The biggest perk being that itās part turf for the dogs to run around on; gotta love a mud free romp in the park!
The staff and owners are super sweet and attentive. They also have a pretty good beer and NA beverage selection; although nothing is on draft yet (which is something I think they may be working on eventually). There is plenty of seating and even a heated tent for quick relief from the cold. Granted the heated tent isnāt designed to hold a ton of people but if itās fine outside for your dog, it should be fine enough for you to take turns going in and out of the tent.
I did see a comment or two mentioning parking issues; let me say that I have yet to need to park on the street and we come often so itās not really as common of an issue. Iām sure there are occasions where it gets packed (weekend afternoons and meet ups) and when the need arises, but I am sure most people donāt stay longer than about 1.5-2hours if not less. The park also has reasonable hours and tends to die out towards the end so the residents of the neighborhood shouldnāt be struggling to find a place to park in the evening.
All in all, the owners have been doing an amazing job and are constantly striving to improve overall experience. I doubt they are making a ton of money with this yet and you can tell that they are doing this because they are truly passionate about dogs. Cleo and I are very thankful for a place that caters to dogs and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBumble's Backyard opened this past weekend and I must say this is a place that you need to come visit. Bumble is the owner's dog and he is normally there greeting all his new friends. There is a small building where you check in when you arrive. This place is membership based so you can either pay daily, monthly or yearly. We have the monthly that is reoccurring but can cancel at anytime.
The place is all fenced in and there is a turf section and a section with a gravel patio. This window they are doing a covered heated tent that will have televisions covering sports. The best part of this place is that they have Barktenders that will supervisor, play and take care of your dogs if you need to run to the bathroom or are working from home. They have wifi as well to be able to spend longer periods of time.
Sometimes I get wary of turf areas as they are not clean but here at Bumble's Backyard, the barktenders will clean up the poop and spray it down with a hose to keep the area sanitary. They have various types of chairs that are placed in both the turf and the gravel patio.
There are also tables in the gravel area that you can enjoy some ice cream in the summers, coffee or a beer. I was expecting more of a bar when I heard about this place but they have a concession stand looking area to get beverages. They also have a running bathroom inside. The only issues that this place has is that it is a tad expensive if you did not get a membership when they opened and there are not many dogs there yet. I think the word is still getting out to everyone. Cannot wait to see how much it grows over the months.
The owners Lauryn and Evan are extremely personable and remember my dog whenever I see them. That is the main reason I will keep coming back. Cannot wait for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBumbleās Backyard is absolutely amazing! My dog and I had the best time here. The park is clean, well-maintained, and features synthetic turf, which is a huge plus for keeping things tidyāeven on a wet day. Itās clear theyāve put a lot of thought into creating a safe and fun environment for dogs and their owners.
The walk up bar is fantastic too! Whether youāre in the mood for a morning coffee or an evening beer, theyāve got you covered. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everyoneāboth humans and dogsāwas comfortable and happy.
Itās such a unique and enjoyable concept to combine a dog park with a bar, and theyāve executed it perfectly. They also have a heated tent with a TV to watch the Buckeyes win. My pup had a blast running around and playing with other dogs, and I got to relax and enjoy a drink as the ābarktendersā monitored play. Iāll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this spot to any dog lover in Columbus! āļø šŗ...
