First time here, and I've got to say I'm very disappointed. I love Chipped Chopped Ham and could not get most places to cut the chopped ham very thinly for me, so I was suggested to come here and try. They agreed to cut it for me, I was pleased that they could slice it like that, so I wanted to support the business by buying another 2 pounds of their Honey Loaf Ham. I was excited that I was able to finally make sandwiches until i smelled the bag and noticed a foul odor coming from the chopped ham. I opened it up and noticed some grey in there and took a piece to try, and it was disgusting. I went back inside to explain to them the situation, and they told me nothing was wrong with it, that it didn't smell foul, and that they wouldn't reimburse me or exchange it for different ham. I by no means am a delicatessen expert, so I took the ham to 3 different deli's for them to examine, and they all confirmed it was spoiled rotten, Kroger deli immediately told me it was bad due to it not being stored properly in a cool environment. The weird thing is that the Honey Loaf was good, so that meant only 1 side of their refrigerator functions properly. I don't get why they lied to me about that, but that is a health and safety violation that could seriously hurt someone. This is not how you conduct business with potential customers. I am only giving 2 stars because the Honey Loaf was good. Beware of the products you purchase here. It is a hit or a miss. Depending on what you purchased, you will not be able to exchange or get a refund for the poor quality or rotten meats. I do not recommend this place for any meats that could potentially make someone ill. Better off going to Short North or Toro Meat Market on Parsons instead. I have videos of the Kroger Deli interaction also, but I can not post the entire video here since it's too long. Wish I could've said I had a good experience, but sadly, I did not. I was looking forward to this place since I've never been and honestly was excited to be a customer here. The way they conducted business with me made it not worth it at all. I will not be back. Do not believe the hype around the other reviews like I did. Now I wasted money on ham that ended up in the trash. Carniceria Brothers, do better cause this is not good, especially if someone were to get sick from your products. Hopefully, this issue...
Read moreThe first time I went, I bought quite a few steaks. They were very good, and reasonably priced. After that, it went downhill for me. I've been back about three to four times. Each time I went back, I was hoping the steaks would be like they were the first time I shopped there. But, each time back, the steaks have been chewy, full of gristle, and inedible. I thought I had thrown all of the meat I had vacuum sealed away, but I accidentally grabbed sirloin steak out of the freezer today. I prepared it in a sous vide for 3 1/2 hours at 128 degrees. Putting a normal steak in that long will make it one of the most tender steaks you will eat. I took it out, and fried it for one minute on each side. I knew when I took it out of the sous vide it was one of the steaks I bought from CB. I took two bites, and it was so chewy, I just pitched it into the garbage. I wouldn't even give it to the dog. Their ribeyes and t-bones are cheap, like the sirloin, but still chewy. Pay the extra few bucks per pound and get food you can eat from...
Read moreI didn't like my experience here. First nobody spoke English so it was hard to communicate . The service was difficult to deal with because of the lack of communication. Every time I talked English the only thing these people could do is laugh. So, I started pointing out the meat I wanted to buy . When I wanted one pound they gave me two . But The worse part of my experience is when I went home to cook the meat I bought it was poor quality of meat . I bought over a hundred dollars worth of meat from this market and all of it was poor quality and tasted funny . I am very disappointed in this...
