Wow!
I took my two boys a few weeks back. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted enthusiastically and warmly which was nice. There weren’t as many buildings as I remember, but the two very friendly and helpful young people working in the welcome center informed us they are only in Phase 1 of moving everything from Lumpkin. The churches were very well kept and nice to see they were being preserved. The interpreters were great, knew their stuff, and did an excellent job. The blacksmith exhibit and Indian interpreter were really cool. We didn’t buy anything there, but the gift shop was incredibly impressive and featured a lot of really cool regional books and items. My only complaint is the heat (which isn’t Westville’s fault obviously) and the explicit language used by one of the employees (the older one with the straw hat) in the welcome center. I have two small kids and he clearly didn’t notice or care. But overall, a great experience! We will return for the Harvest Fest in November when the...
Read moreI don't work here so I think I can honestly say this. Stop expecting Disney world out of Westerville. If that's what you want spend $4000 dollars and go to Florida. Stop complaining about the grass. In the time they are trying to show you, a sling blade, sickle, or live stock was used to mow the grass. They don't take in enough to pay people to use a sling blade and you're going to complain about the mess live stock leave behind. If you think they charge to much, drive down any brick road in Georgia and you will see History. But don't blame anyone if you get car jacked. Westerville is a safe place to see History. As far as staff, it's a hit or miss if they are going to have the staffing the day you go. So don't judge them by the first visit. Last note, It's not Six Flags of Georgia either. It's...

We have visited Historic Westville several times, each time was a very pleasant experience. It is most entertaining on their special occasions when the town is alive with all sorts of demonstrations and entertainment. I've enjoyed some of the best Bluegrass performances in the little church just down the road from the entrance.
We are very much looking forward to their reopening even though they'll be a bit further up the...
