A small park which seems to have plenty of bird life. There is an observation area at the top, but my recommendation would be to take the walk down to the base of the dam. We were really interested in the other side that I believe is only accessible if you cross the area of rapids, but we had our kids with us and it didn't seem super safe to cross with them. The area across from the bottom viewing deck has about 3 waterfalls and small streams that would be a blast to explore if there was direct access to it. Read moreThe turnoff into the parking lot is easy to miss, but it wasn't crowded. We went just after a big rain. The flow coming down was impressive, but if you get too close your going to get sprayed with that muddy foamy water.
Short hike down the paved trail to the water, but it could be steep for some folks.
