I had done an order through Door Dash. I would say it went through to El Vaquero around 8:40-8.45pm. This location closes at 10pm today, and online ordering supposedly stops at 9:15pm. It has happened a few times that my order was submitted and waiting for the restaurant to accept the order for a LONG time. The only issue is here. No where else. (I’ve had something similar happen on Uber Eats with them as well, again, only this restaurant.) The first time I waited 20-25 minutes until they accepted it, and it was around 7pm, and another time as well. I thought it was the problem with Door Dash, because that’s mainly what I use and Uber Eats is the second choice. I’m not really sure how Uber Eats handles their deliveries, but I imagine the same way since I’ve had this issue with this restaurant through them as well… So anyway, I disregarded it being late. Because online ordering could cause mishaps sometimes, you know? This time, today, again my order was waiting to be accepted by the restaurant for around 20-30 minutes, meaning that no one checked the Door Dash orders coming through. They were busy, or forgot about it, or simply did not want to do it, or just noticed the order at 9:12pm (when it was physically cancelled by the restaurant with their excuse literally because the “online ordering closed”) since again, online orders “stop at 9:15pm.” I’ve worked in and managed restaurants, and I do know that sometimes checking the Door Dash orders coming through can be a pain in the butt if you are super busy. I understand today might be a little extra busy, however, I don’t think you should be partnered with Door Dash if it is too much to handle. It is the same thing as disregarding customer who are in store waiting for a booth, for example. The odd thing is that I tried to call in before the order was accepted to make sure they got it, since it was getting closer and closer to 9:15pm, and something told me the order will be cancelled for that exact reason. “Closing time” for online ordering. What a douche-y thing to do. Yea, I’ve already connected with Door Dash about this and it was funny because I called a few times, then the Door Dash rep tried as well. I had one call that kind of seemed like someone answered (maybe) and hung up. Then two other calls that went to some automated system. I called the number on their website of course… The restaurant still states it closes at 10pm today. How unfortunate, because I really, really liked their food. But laziness or carelessness loses business. I don’t think there is really any excuse to make it seem that customers using Door Dash (or perhaps other delivery services) are just not as important. Maybe hire more people if you can’t keep up? Or just not use Door Dash if it’s too hard to keep track of. Read moreVery disappointing experience at the Powell location yesterday. We had a large group for a going away celebration. Called 3 weeks in advance for reservations. Booked at 4pm so we wouldn’t interfere with Saturday dinner rush. Took the outside patio so we wouldn’t be crowding the indoor dinning area. The staff was annoyed we were there from the beginning. Walked into the hostess sitting in the front booth enjoying a Pizza Hut Pizza. Instead of showing us to our table she just pointed toward the back of the restaurant. There was water, menus and salsa on the table. We had to go inside and interrupt the staff - who were sitting at the bar eating pizza - to ask for chips. We were served one round of drinks and never offered a second. Water glasses were never refilled. We were split into two tables. One was offered the opportunity to order appetizers the other was not. We each were assigned a number when our food orders was finally taken an hour and a half after we sat down, but the staff who brought food to the tables didn’t know which numbers went with which orders and people were given the wrong food. Shortly after our food was delivered we were given our bills. No offer of dessert or after dinner drinks. Dishes weren’t cleared from the table. Some of our party had traveled a long way and we were there to visit each other. We sat at a table full of dirty dishes for an hour with no drinks and nasty looks from the staff. Because we all work directly with the public, any other time we make sure the wait staff gets a large tip. This night our bill and their tip was half of what it would of been had the staff been interested in serving us food and drinks. Apparently this location is not the place to go...
Read moreDo not order from here for delivery. Ordered through Door Dash and meal was poorly done and did not fill out order correctly. Ordered Steak El Cuatrero (steak and shrimp with cheese). Steak and shrimp were drenched in grease, so much so when picked up with fork grease dripped off food. So much grease and so little cheese the cheese was not on food but slipped off into grease. Very bland for a Mexican restaurant. Steak was ordered medium well. Was not evenly cooked, overcooked and blackened on one end , pink in middle on the other. 1/4 of steak was fat. Rice and beans were ok but have had much better.
Ordered 2 bottles Mexican Cokes. Got two small watered down fountain drinks. Couldn’t even provide a straw, fork or napkins.
Overall a very poor meal and not worth the $25 paid for it. Especially ending up paying $5.18 for 2 small cups of fountain Coke. At least my four dogs were happy...
