Spacious, rolling, well maintained Park. Park at the Bluff and get a great overall view of Lake Erie. Wonderful spot to view gorgeous sunsets! Offers walk down access to the beach also. Drive down into the park and there is a nice, large play area for children and has a pretty, winding little creek, that the little ones can explore too. Plenty of picnic tables and places to park throughout the area. The beach is clean, huge and has a nice boardwalk to roam around on. Great for those who don't care to get sand all over their feet! The breakwall is fun to walk out on or fish from, providing that the lake is not too rough. A local hot spot, from the beach, is the sandbar. As long as the water level is not too high, you can either walk to, for free, on the sandbar or pay 5 bucks to drive and park there, your choice. A bird, wildlife viewing structure is here as well. Summer time the concession stand is open and you can visit the car show on Thurdays. The lower pavillion has pull down garage-like doors, on the lake side, that can be used to block inclement weather. There is a smaller version on the upper area of the park also, with a beautiful gazebo, that has built-in seating, beside it. Both areas have restroom facilities. Many events are held here during the year, the most famous, the D- Day Reenactment. On or close to the 4th of July, the long weekend has a nice fireworks display and many other activities to enjoy with it, carnival rides, talent show, etc. An Octoberfest is celebrated later as well. Visit this family friendly park an enjoy...

An absolute splendid and beautiful park and beach with so many nice amenities for the public. Ample parking, plenty of tables to eat,… one of the best playgrounds I’ve seen for kids ever! Sooo amazing they keep the old school playground equipment like the merry go round and aluminum slides. Those are relics and the best. Please never remove them. Love the wooden walking path. And also the wooden lifeguard chairs on the hill! Whoever’s idea it was to keep those and perch on hill is a genius and I salute you. Beautiful spot to watch sunset. I’ve lived in Erie all my life and first time here at 35 years old. Such a beautiful park. Just honestly a disappointment they are so strict about NO DOGS ALLOWED. I see the response from the Google maps business owner and seems like they are reqlly strict and take it seriously. It’s a bummer cause we brought our dog and was hoping he could enjoy it. I get it- dogs poop, owners are lazy… but most* owners are responsible if you actually provide the doggie poop bag stations around. I feel like you should at least compromise and allow dogs on a section of the beach area. I’m glad the Lake Erie peninsula isn’t that strict about no dogs. Wanted to give it 1 star cause the no dog policy is so strict. But overall, it’s a beautiful park that the residents and travelers are...

Great sunset but nasty guy who closed up the park. I left at dusk just like the sign said but some park personnel shouted at me to hurry. Could he not see that I had torn a ligament on my ankle and had a brace on? I had to stop briefly to ease up on the pain I had. This man just kept yelling through some speaker to hurry. Then made angry threats to cite me or tow me. For those of you who don’t know this the boardwalk is long. Maybe a rabbit could run it quickly but a senior human with a torn ligament can’t!!! Well I left at dusk. How do you define DUSK???

I came there for the sunset and had taken photos. That’s the reason people go here!!

The man was angry , disrespectful and impatient like he wanted to go home or to get a fix or something.

No pets? Very bad!!!! People pay a dog tax you know. ( Use a vest folks )

Anyway headlands was so much more friendly. Go there instead. People were out there way past dusk ! About 40 people came there for sunset photos. Not one soul was out at this beach.

I think because the man is known for being toxic to visitors. He had no manners. He just spewed anger

This place is closed on...

The restrooms were pretty poor, but they just tore that whole part of the building down and are currently rebuilding it. They used to have a shower/foot washing station, but it was close to the construction area so we didn't walk over that area to see if it's still available during construction. The new building is looking nice! The beach is VERY rocky, so I'd recommend bringing some water shoes that coarse sand and tiny rocks won't get into. You can find some really neat-looking small pieces of polished glass washed up all over the beach as well as some nice decorative rocks and large flat stones. The playground has a lot of fun, older-style playground equipment for the kids. They have several charcoal grills available for cooking along the path to the beach. When the new building reopens they will likely sell snacks and drinks like they used to in the old building that was removed.
