Big Deal Appliances — Attraction in Waggaman

Small business here. I bought two appliances: French door fridge and a gas dryer. I would have bought two more appliances (stove and a washer) but I found each at the big box store for an incredible deal as open box items.

The appliances I bought are comparable in price to other stores. However I saved 15% by buying two items, which is nice.

So what is the advantage vs a big box store? They keep their products in stock albeit limited options so if you need something within a day or two, pick it up here — or any other small business while bigger stores have a 10 day turn around time. As for shipping/delivery, it’s $40 within several miles of them. It does not include install — while big stores will deliver AND install for free. So I had to take off the refrigerator doors myself to get it in thru front door. That took over an hour to disassemble and reassemble as a newbie.

Josh, the owner, took the time to talk me through my options and helped me find the right fit without any pressure. He made sure I got a great price too, which I really appreciated.

This place is the absolute worst appliance store. I bought 3 appliances from them all had concealed damage and the owner evaded me for weeks. When a finally spoked to him he said that it wasn’t damaged when he sold it to me and that he could sell me more appliances but could not replace or repair the ones I purchase even though it had only been a couple months.
