Fun, fun, fun! Nice and big. Not very well know by tourists so not very crowded. Plenty of parking space. Take your family and friends. Grab your cooler and beach stuff. Do not forget your sifter, buy floating sifter (it really useful) and go to the water and start looking for shark's teeth. I found my first during first ten minutes. After one hour I had fistful of different shapes and sizes. Don't forget...

Who ever runs the park and be replaced w someone who is capable of doing the job. Several months have passed since the storm and the entire area is still closed due to incompetence. In the same time every almost every large and small business and home in the same coast is pretty much put back together and operational. It’s a couple pavilions and some basic power…..def...

We come here for sharks teeth. So much fun whether you are here for the beach or sharks teeth. Recommend wearing water shoes I’d you go out into the water.

The beach isn’t quite the sugar sand you are used to. It is a dark gray but just as nice.

There are shells usually along the beach to find.

Recently there has been a food truck stations near the restroom...

🦈 Visit the Shark Tooth Capital of the World! . We didn’t know how exciting hunting for shark teeth can be until now! At Caspersen Beach in Venice, Florida you can find all types of shark teeth including megalodon (largest shark to ever exist). You’re basically collecting fossils which are millions of years old! We found teeth from hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, lemon sharks and more. . Ten million years ago, when Florida was submerged underwater, the area was filled with sharks. Over time, as the water receded giving way to land, the prehistoric sharks died - their fossilized teeth remained. Venice sits on top of a fossil layer that runs 18-35 feet deep. Storms and waves slowly push the fossils to the beach. . Best time to search for shark teeth is during low tide. . Unspoiled is the word I would use to describe Caspersen's. It is my favorite Gulf Coast beach because of its natural beauty. Known for the shark's teeth that wash up on the shore, the beach is loaded with shells and fossils. We have seen dolphins and lots of other wildlife here. Parking is convenient but is sometimes full by midday.
