So initially, I wouldâve given it a five because I was able to get on pretty quickly and get off very efficiently. The Carnival Magic cruise itself was wonderful. However, the dog stopped me because of a small bar of soap from the Hilton hotel. I had to have my entire toiletry bag checked. The man who had to go through everything admitted that soap gets flagged all the time. Your probably dog needs to be retrained if this soap is an issue. Secondly getting off the ship I accidentally left behind a Carnival tote bag with my souvenirs in it to make it easier at customs for anything that looked unusual, souvenirs, etc. We werenât even looked at by customs. However, because I forgot about this new bag, I waited hours to get my bag. You escorted me when you were concerned about a bar of soap, why not escort me in to get my small piece of luggage of souvenirs. You have a training problem. We had been here for hours. Two of the female employees yelled at people constantly, which is completely inappropriate.Only a few people forgot a bag and couldâve been escorted to their bags less than 40 feet away. A woman finally came out with our luggage on a cart. Some people were at risk of missing flights. The woman starts yelling at us for our IDs and that we canât just grab our bags. It took a second for me to get my ID out, and sheâs still yelling at us. I responded without yelling or foul language, because Iâve been a trainer, âNow youâre yelling at us about not moving fast enough when weâve been standing here for hours instead of just escorting the few of us one by one to our bag down here in the terminal, 40 feet away. Now we arenât moving fast enough.â She called the sheriff on me! He was very calm and easy to talk to. I showed my ID. Explain what happened and what I said. I got my bag and I was out of there after several more minutes, finally. I am a platinum cruiser and never had such hateful people at a terminal. Iâm a widow, as well as my friend cruise-mate. I have stress seizures so this triggered one. One of the employees saw me struggling to walk normally and asked if I needed assistance. They were told by one of the hateful women employees not to talk to me. If I had fallen because I go unconscious often with these type of seizures, I wonder if they wouldâve still said not to assist me? I have traveled quite a bit and never run into anything so horrible! This female and another, yelled at disembarking passengers constantly and treated passengers very disrespectfully. They can say whatever they want to us, apparently....
   Read moreWe have yet to set sail. From the beginning we have had issues. We have spent hours on the phone ensuring that we get what we have paid for. First they had free at sea then they didn't have FAS. We paid for things that were just dropped off of our itinerary. We paid for the trip about a year ago. And it's almost weekly that we receive a new itinerary showing something different. Extras that we paid for just fell off the list. No refund or anything. Our first and last cruise with NCL.
Update: we are saling. Once the staff, on board, figured out their software snafu all seems well. We are still annoyed by all the time and effort it took on our part. We have been reimbursed for services removed.
The service, food, and entertainment is fantastic.. if your don't want to upgrade meals the Garden Cafe buffet easily holds its own as do the other "complimentary" restaurants. In the garden the options are plentiful, and the Indian dishes are delicious. Also, you will find plenty of healthy options like veggies and salads, and fishes. Also, you'll find the favorites like burgers.
The wings and Reuben at O.Sheehams are fantastic.
The whole menu at Taste is delicious and again service is wonderful. Quick, ultra polite and professional.
Excursions are good, well organized.
Downs: the PA system announcements are like the ones you listened to in grade school. Most of the time they cannot be heard. Chairs- seriously they need a few more chairs in common spaces.
Wifi - Seriously - charge for WIFI - give it up already. Put a few star links on the boat and eat the fee. Humm cost of doing business.
Improvements: when stopped at a port and tenders are needed. Open the back door to swim and ride jet skis. Use the military approach for safety and use breathalyzer to ensure safety.
I'm looking forward to the remainder of this trip.
UPDATE: Trip is over, and I can think of many more ways to spend 5K on a week's vacation. Overall, we are not impressed. The cons outweigh the pros. DO NOT upgrade any DRINKS, it's all a waste. Stick with beer or wine. The booze is somehow less strong. Same color and taste...
   Read moreCompletely awful a lady lost my luggage almost immediately and that is the truth and the carnival Cruise was okay nothing to write home about honestly worst crews I've ever been on I prefer a Royal Caribbean because they are just outstanding, when you're on a Royal Caribbean you cannot feel the waves unless you are near the front bottom of the ship and in a carnival you can feel it anywhere you sit in most places like the gym and the dining areas and ECT was really bad I also got sick on the cruise so bring lots of vitamin c and there was lots of creepy people and people that kept on would just insult you for no reason even if you just walking by. My room service lady was absolutely just average they try to nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. But what was cool is that every day they make you a animal out of towels BUT I asked the lady that was cleaning my room if I put them to the side that if she could just keep on making them so I could have a little zoo in my room and she said okay but everyday she destroyed them to make the new ones. But my brother that had a separate room and a male room cleaner was pretty cool and my brother asked if he could also have a little zoo in his room and he did get one it was pretty cool I just wish I had the same thing :( there was this worker that I saw that look like that he didn't want to be here and when he noticed that I saw him he put a fake little smile...
