Disney Cruise Line has been our go to cruise line for over 10 years, and we have been mostly happy with the 15+ cruises we have taken. The cruise line is known for the exemplary customer service, amenities, and food quality that sets the brand apart from most other lines. While this stands true, there has been a noted decline in several areas (most likely due to Covid-19 impact on operations). The differences between pre and post 19 travel are evident, specifically in the food quality and to certain aspects the customer service. C19 impacted many business's operations, supply, and logistics, and Disney World be no exception. Modifications to the supply chains in post operations has led to noted declines in the food quality, due to losses in their logistical chains (verified by cast members) of their preferred vendors. While we are several years beyond "re-open", the original quality did not come back (though the food is still better than most other cruise lines). The customer service has also taken a hit, again due to losses of cast members who held lengthy positions with the brand, but had to move on to other professions due to their lost wages during shutdown (many of the cast members of earlier have moved on to other professions for financial support). Many cast members still remain, but with the release of many new ships on the horizon, there is a lot of focus on new cast "earning their ears". This has led to a gap in previous service levels compared to current. The customer service is still fantastic, but there are many noted differences between the pre onboard feel of the service, and the current level received (many of the small little extras that made the cruise so special seem to have been lost). DCL is a solid choice for cruises with our without children (MANY adults cruise without children in the line due to the service level), but the "elite" feel of the line is...
Read moreReturned 18th October from a 7 night cruise on the Disney Treasure.
This is our 6th or 7th cruise with Disney, and have certainly noticed the drop in standards across the ship.
The quality and choice of food is nowhere near as good as it was previously, and our friends who have done a dozen or so Disney Cruises agreed.
We would also have preferred a true buffet style restaurant, as it's very uncomfortable to have to ask for more, where it seems that the standard breakfast serving is one sausage and two rashers of bacon. I have no desire to act out a role in the Oliver! musical.
The staff at Minnie's pizza place on deck 11 didn't seem particularly organized, and quite frankly, looked really miserable and obviously didn't want to be there, not the Disney experience at all!
We didn't particularly like the layout of the Disney Treasure either with even less open deck space allotted to adults only than on her sister ships. The atrium / main hall was a major disappointment, with very little seating, probably due to it being more of a character photo spot than anything else, with the lines for the restaurant and photos becoming confused.
It's small thing, but having prepaid our gratuities, I was somewhat annoyed that gratuities are not included for alcohol at dinner time, is it so much more work to pour a beer than serve the 6 soft drinks for the other people on the table?
We recently sailed with MSC Cruises in one of their Yacht Club suites, with a butler, and that was far cheaper than this Disney cruise so we'll be cruising with...
Read moreWe cruised on the Disney Wish in October 2025! I have so many great things to say about this experience. The staff, and I mean ALL of the staff, were top notch! They get an A+ for service. You never encountered a service member that didn't dawn a smile and a kind word! We had 3 in our party and opted for a family stateroom that sleeps 4-5. This option gave us plenty of space! We really loved the split bathroom as well! Our 10 year old son loved the Oceaneers Club and asked to go there so many times! There were a few down falls though. The buffet area is packed, elbow to elbow! We really liked the food court and even though it could get packed, generally the lines went pretty fast. Donald's Cantina was my favorite!! Bingo is pretty expensive if you wish to play ($60-80 for a family pack) but the atmosphere was soooo much fun! The pools are very small and typically extremely crowded. In our family's opinion, they didn't offer enough "fun" activities for adults to do. While our son loved the cruise, we were a little bored with it. Definitely would recommend taking a Disney Cruise at least once in your life though. It was a fun experience and we don't regret it. Tip of advice: take motion sick meds before you ever sail out of Port Canaveral. The waters are choppy and so many people were sick the first night. After that it was...
