Have been meaning to leave a review of this place for years. If I could leave with no stars, I would. Today is the last straw. Ordered a dozen fried lumpia and I was given a small container of sauce so I asked for a second one. When paying, I saw I was charged $0.25 and was told it was for the extra sauce! I ordered a dozen, you would think I deserve at least 2 complimentary “small” sauces!
Also, whenever I would order an entree, they won’t just scoop pieces of meat or vegetables, they purposely pick the smallest pieces of anything. Why do that? Who are you leaving the other pieces for??? I watch them closely and make sure to ask for a better piece of meat, etc. This is the big difference with Filipino restaurants and Chinese restaurants. Chinese restaurants are always very generous with their portions and sauces.
And asking for tips for scooping and handing over the food I ordered! Ridiculous!
I would go to Manila Oriental in Springfield if it were closer to my home. They don’t do what...
Read moreI was so disappointed because I was expecting good tasting food...the food did NOT TASTE GOOD!!! The "paksiw na pata" that i ate were ALL BONES and cost too much money....i was NOT even given a receipt for all the food i bought!!!Considering the high prices you would think that you will be getting something worth the high cost that they are charging!!! Grocery prices are sky high too. Employees are not friendly and RUDE!!! There is NO comparison between the other filipino store "MANILA ORIENTAL" Located at Commerce Street, and this "filipino global supermarket".....Manila Oriental Store has very good tasting food and Manila Oriental's grocery items are just priced right. Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR GOOD EARNED MONEY at this Filipino Global Supermarket!!!!
UPDATE: Price of food were still sky high for the quantity and quality of the food you are getting! And foods are way too salty. In my opinion, it looks like what other people may call it......
Read moreFood is pretty good. I keep coming back when I'm craving filipino food. They charge 9 bucks for a large container of any entree. My issue is, they still charge you 9 bucks if it's a soup, i.e., sinigang. So a word of advice, dont order the soup in a large container, it may be worthe it if you get adobo or lechon instead. Also, they are quite stingy with providing a fork and napkin. Most times I'm having lunch in my car or at the park. Really aggravates me that I have to search for utensils when I'm ready to eat! This has happened to me at least 3 times now. Now I'm programmed to just ask for it before I leave because they will not automatically put it in the bag for you. Anyhow, I'll still go there for the food, it's pretty good and will satisfy. Then again, there's no other filipino food nearby. Also. The grocery part of the store is adequate. Some of the baked goods are old and far from fresh. But other than...
