Aside from the parking, I would give this place 4 1/2 stars! By the way, they’re attached to Walmart and the parking is shared with the Walmart parking garage. You have two hours free parking after that you’re subject to a fee.
Walking up to this restaurant I wasn’t sure if they was closed due to Covid, the restaurants seem completely desolate and empty. However I noticed I was there mid day and they were training a new guy on the grill.
I ordered fish tacos and I couldn’t choose between the flower or corn tortilla so I decided to get both. Lol
This indecisive girl also could not choose between her sauces. So what did I do! I got all three of them- Chiltomate, colorado and mestizo. 😂
I now prefer flour tortilla over corn, only because the corn tortilla kind of reminds me of cornmeal which takes away from the flavor of the fish, to include the salsa and all the fixings. But it is truly a personal preference
This establishment appears to be clean and entering into the bathroom it was also nice and clean. Good job!
And did I mention the Happy Hour?!...
Read moreWe have loved District Taco for many years, most frequently the Arlington location and mosaic, and today was our first time going to the Springfield location. The food was good, and the service friendly, but this was THE loudest restaurant we have been in in MANY years. There were only 2 tables occupied so it wasn't people noise. The music was so incredibly loud that we couldn't even hear the cashier and honestly should have left without ordering, and then loud kitchen equipment started being used while we were waiting on our food-like airplane flying low overhead loud. Never heard anything like it, to be honest. We were so grateful our food was packed to go even though we said dine in because we had to get out of there. With concrete floors, hard walls, hard ceiling and hard tables, you need to account for reverberation and turn the music down. We went out for a nice lunch and came home to eat our food with side of migraine. bummer. we won't go back, even for takeout. We also had to wait a long time for our food because they were preparing...
Read moreThis is my new favorite fast-casual mexican restaurant. Think of Chipotle but with 5 times the selection! As someone who shies away from meat but still eats fish, I have the option of shrimp on certain days of the week, and fish on others. The salsa bar is great, with many different options for different tolerances of spiciness. The breakfast options are also great, even including a heathier egg-white option that you can get without cheese. Its' very tasty even without the cheese, especially with a topping of grilled veggies and/or guac. They have a great nutrition calculator online so that I can custom design the tacos (or other items) based on how many calories, protein, fat, sodium, etc. that I want to limit myself to (or alternately get enough of) for every meal, and you can certainly have a lot of filling stuff for low amounts of calories. Sodium, as with most restaurants, is a challenge, but there are definitely lower-sodium options that I can create based on the toppings I...
