I booked this family friendly daytime wildlife tour on a last second 2 day trip to St Augustine. I have metastatic cancer and have been desperate to make some memories with my kids despite limited funds. It definitely hit the mark!
Overall: Amazing! Saw a number of dolphins and a couple types of birds, but this tour would have been worth the cost even if I had seen none. The first mate / guide was knowledgeable and passionate and every thought was to giving us a good experience. This is definitely the tour to book!!!! Do it! Extremely affordable, too.
The booking: I was able to do this completely online, with transparent pricing, last second. This puts it far ahead many tours.
The location: I aimed to be there 30 minutes early for our Monday daytime tour and I was the first one there. A bench would have been nice while waiting. I suspect I would have been able to park with my handicap placard right next to the dock since the restaurant was closed M/Tu, and not walked, in case that helps someone disabled booking in the future.
The Guide: He had experience in both science education and research and it showed. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and charismatic. My eldest was particularly impressed about how happy he seemed to be there and to be sharing this information, and how well he could answer any question. He also was able to get my autistic youngest to open up and feel comfortable pretty easily.
The Perks: My young son (and the only other child of approximately the same age on this tour) were able to “drive” the boat for a few seconds when we were out in the open with nothing and no one around - and of course the captain right there and watching. Safe, but enough that I am sure my son will never stop talking about it. It filled my heart. They had a dolphin skull replica on board. I’ll never know how but the guide took a photo of us where I look nice! I have gained a massive amount of weight since having cancer (between the direct impact, the treatments, and going from a 70+ mile a week runner to physically disabled) and I can’t stand photos. I was never photogenic even when thin and pretty. But he took photos where I look the same or better than real life, not like a somewhat more feminine Jabba....
Read moreAAA arranged a boat tour with this tour boat company well we want you to know something. My wife and I had the most fantastic time on the boat now when we first arrived there we got lost so we contacted them and the woman that works there. Her name is Jackie she picked up the phone and she helped us to find the business so we could go on the boat tour. She stayed outside while we were driving to the location so we could see her. Jackie is a great woman. She’s bubbly also very compassionate and she loves people. Well, I also met the boat crew before the tour. They were all dynamite, super friendly and also very courteous. Once we got on the boat we had a great time the captain of the ship and also a young woman who was going over the history of this tour. We’re very funny happy and also very knowledgeable. They thanked us after we got off the boat, but what I do like is we told them we were having a honeymoon for and happiest later because we never had one the young woman that was the tour guide on the boat said I hope the best for the both of you. Well, I’m gonna tell you right now From my wife’s in my perspective we would go back there again when we come to Florida for another boat tour because when a business treats my wife and I the way they wanna be treated they are the type of business that we don’t mind going to because anyone cares about people the way these people do they deserve not only our business, but also our respect. I would recommend this company to anyone that’s looking to see Saint Augustine because these people are all dynamite. My wife and I are planning on coming back again next year cause we want to move to Ocala Florida well when we decide to take another boat ride, we’re gonna do some business with these people. Here are travel agent from AAA. Did a great job by signing us up for this tour. What I also like about Jackie, who is responsible for the store she was so full of love. You just feel it all over her. She’s the type of person that you like doing business with even before the captain and his crew went on board the ship they all made a point to say hello to us. They were super friendly. That’s the only way I can put it in the words believe me that boat tour was worth...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to do this tour literally on the drive up from Fort Lauderdale. We hadn’t read reviews prior and we had never done a sunset cruise but we’d figure why not. Well, what an AMAZING experience, it did not disappoint and we are SO happy that we decided to do the tour. Captain Steve, Mimi and Rose were our boats crew and they were exceptional.
Finding the meet up location was easy peasy, parking was easy, finding the boat, easy. Everything leading up to the actual loading of the boat was easy. Once loaded we set off into the intercostal, we got to see dolphins, beautiful homes and we’re educated on the history of St. Augustine. We got to see the lighthouse from a distance, the Nights of Lights (I think that’s what it’s called) of St. Augustine, the fort, and so much more. We got some cool paper glasss to see the lights as Santa’s, reindeer and snowflakes amplifying the experience. We also received complimentary hot cocoa that we were able to spike as there is a bar on the boat. The music is the best, I couldn’t have asked for better DJing to set the mood.
Now the best part, the sunset! I seriously was like we aren’t going to be able to see a sunset we are too far east and low, boy was I wrong. One of the most beautiful sunsets on the water. The weather and everything just made the experience that much better. I highly recommend, don’t think about it just do it.
The crew saw a plastic bag flying around that landed in the water and they made every effort to get it which made my heart happy. Saving the oceans creatures from our mess! I’m sure I could say more but really, I hope the pictures and videos help you...
