If you do not take the .1-mile hike from the parking lot of the John Rock Overlook you will never see the rock face that gives the overlook its name. The view is spectacular once you get to the end of the trail. The overlook is about 1 mile from the Graveyard Fields hiking trails so it is a great add-on to an afternoon of hiking.
