Let’s just say that the only good thing about it was that it was located in the national park. From the moment we arrived, we only had bad experiences. We checked in at around 5 PM, and there was a power outage. Check-in process took about 45 minutes, the staff were extremely disinterested and were just relying on each other to do the work. Nobody was ready to take any responsibility. I, my husband, my father-in-law and my nine month old infant baby had one room. The power of still gone for a couple of hours after we checked in, and we had to sit in the dark room because of that. Later that night, while I and my husband had gone away on a walk, someone from the staff came to our room and told my father-in-law that we had booked the room for three people, but because we had a nine month old infant with us, we were actually four and were therefore breaking the rules. We would have to look for alternative accommodation and would need to leave immediately as there were no more rooms available for four people in the lodging. Their tone was extremely threatening, and they left before I and my husband could return. It was ridiculous that they were counting a 9 month Old baby as the fourth person. Also, the next day they never followed up on it. If it was that important for them to have the baby shown as an adult human, why did they not follow through with their threats and rules. It just felt like plain harassment. The next day we went to the gift shop, and although there was no power outage, for some reason their card machine was not working and they were writing down each persons credit card details on a piece of paper. It was so ridiculous, I have never seen something like this, and we did not bother to buy anything. While booking our room, we had paid the $90 per person advance package for breakfast. When we arrived, although we had a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes before we could be seated, while the dining room was practically empty. After seating, it took an unbelievable one and a half hours for them to take our order and bring out our food. The whole breakfast affair easily lasted 2 1/2 hours because, their cooks were overwhelmed, but there were hardly three families in the entire restaurant for breakfast. Also, the food was bland and pre-prepared, not freshly cooked. It was specially difficult for us because we had an infant with us and all our later plans for the day Got the derailed because of this extremely late start to the day. Overall, I do not recommend anybody to stay at this place, it was easily the worst experience I’ve ever had not just the national park, but in any hotel accommodation, period. PS – the accommodation does not have refrigerators, microwave or any self serve...
Read moreWe stayed on July 4th(2018). The morning after our stay my wife caught/killed a flea on her pillow, and she reported it to the desk... actually left the flea in a cup cover with Nancy. Prior: taking a photo of it in the room for evidence there on the floor behind the bed was someone’s nail clipping. This only added to the frustration of uncleanliness. The room didn’t appear to be dirty the night before when we checked in, you can imagine how finding a flea in the am can make you feel... itchy and uncomfortable, especially having our baby with us was upsetting for my wife who packed our belongings and left the room to say the least, then seeing a nail clipping equally gross. It sounds ridiculous that we’re complaining about a flea found and nail clipping, but felt compelled to share the info left on my wife’s voice mail, the general manager returned her call (after my wife called them for a follow up) this happened Wednesday, it is now Saturday... She reported there was no infestation. We never said that there was - we found A flea... and it is there at the desk with Nancy. Also on the voice mail She gave a bunch of numbers and contact info to complain. I don’t have time for that, just treat the room for fleas and clean it extra good for future guests! That’s it! There was a flea killed and found just do something about the room, for future guests. Calling to complain helps no one. I’m leaving this review for the Future guests as a precaution. You should check your room before you stay and I suggest this because what was supposed to be a calm relaxing getaway ended up being a quite uncomfortable stay. A proper response to this flea finding should be, “Thankyou and sorry ... we treated the room you stayed in.” I highly doubt there was just one Flea..but obviously an infestation is ludicrous. My wife never would have seen it if it weren’t for it being on a WHITE pillow. But she never said it was infested either. I think a finding of a flea gives merits a special clean etc! Hopefully this review can find the proper attention - as a parent to a two year old I don’t have the time for phone calls and phone tag etc ... over flea(s) Just treat the room. Room #25. I’m writing this because as a guest, I would appreciate to know how a situation was HANDLED. So you are aware because they didn’t see an infestation the room was most likely not treated. Unfortunate for...
Read moreWe stayed 3 nights in this quaint Inn. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are a little tight, but there were just two of us, so it had everything we needed, just keep in mind if you have a larger family. Each room had a fan, but because we were local, we also brought our own, due to the heat wave at the time. Reservations are highly recommended for dining as they are short staffed and only have so many slots available. We only ate our dinners at the inn since we spent our days hiking. The food was delicious! We enjoyed the lemon chicken, pork chops, meatloaf (best I have ever had!), smoked salmon spread, salads (loved the raspberry vinegarette), and the blackberry crumble with vanilla ice-cream. So good! We stayed over a long weekend and never had any issues with parking. They offer guests complimentary ice, but keep in mind they can run out, dependent on demand. They also offer free coffee and tea for guests. In addition to dining, they sell grab and go options like breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, cheese and crackers, muffin tops, etc. The front covered deck is a relaxing spot to take a break and enjoy the view of Mt. Rainier (see pic). There is a nice general store next door that sells snacks and gifts. While this information is available on their website, please note that they do not have an elevator or air conditioning. Still, it is a lovely Inn, built in 1907. Also, be sure to check out the trail loop across the street. You can see one of the original Longmire Resort cabins and hot springs spa; very...
