Let me begin by stating that I personally have been getting acrylic and dip nails for over 10 years and our kiddo for the last four years. We've received services at this salon 3x over the last 90-days. One getting a nail service (acrylics) and the other pedicures.
During my second pedicure I've noticed accumulated scrubs and lotion products under the foot rests. Paying attention to how often my water splashed on the bottom of that foot rest I became concerned. When trying to bring this up to my tech at the time they said "Don't worry about it". I decided to not receive pedicure services at this salon any longer.
Due this I checked out all the nail stations more closely and everything seemed in order. We made the decision to let our daughter continue to see her preferred nail tech, and I sit next to her each time (almost 17).
Well, on this third service on 9/18 she decided on longer nails for HOCO (not her first rodeo with a medium length nail).
Now we are a week in, and we returned to the salon on 9/22 and 9/25. Fully prepared to pay for the fix the first time I was surprised when it was free. At the time I didn't have cash on me for a tip. On 9/25 (fix free) I tipped $10 for both repairs. At this point, we were wondering what is going as our daughter knows how to take care of her beauty standards carefully, but we set the thought aside. By 9/26 two additional nails broke where the others did, right where the fake tip was placed.
Four (4) broken nails on a $95 set with now totalling $25 in tips is a bit tough to accept.
This morning I called Noir Nail Bar where a lady picked up and I requested a manager/owner (whom later admitted she is not a manager or owner).
After some time explaining my concerns it was played off the set already being a week old and she'd be happy to offer a new set at 50%. While the offer is generous, I declined since I have been to this place three times in a week. Clearly, something is wrong with the application itself. I'll accept a nail or two, but this is something else.
I informed the lady that I won't accept the offer and I'll take matters further to report them to the BBB (now I am feeling ripped off). She informs me she is not a Manager or Owner. I offered her to share this information with Manager or Owner and have them give me a call back to resolve this. Unfortunately, the lady returns my call advising me she spoke with the nail tech and this is my daughters fault since she must not know how to take care of long nails as she hasn't had them before.
To be honest, I was shocked. The only reason why we tried a new nail salon is the convinence of their location during the week, but I'll return to my salon of two years, where we never encountered such nail problems or service. They'll be happy to see all my money return to them, including my referrals.
I'll be out of my money, harsh lesson learned in this economy and I'll file a report with BBB, but I thought the chop shop culture was a...
Read moreI got my acrylic nails done with Amy . Amy was transparent and took care of me. I really liked how she did my nails. She is definitely great for designs. Prior to my appointment I spoke with the owner and asked about the 10 percent if I would get it since my appointment was on Wednesday and he said yes. However the 10 percent that they do offer from the website was not applied. I had called back same day on Wednesday to get it applied and the lady that answered the phone told me that I had to show the discount to get it applied and they couldn't offer the refund for the 10 percent. I explained to her it was my first time visiting and it's not even indicated on the website that we have to show the coupon and that it is something they offer on their website for all services 10 percent Monday through Wednesday. If clients need to show the coupon I recommend adding that disclosure online as it is misleading and unfair for new comers that do not know that. I would still like the 10 percent refund as I did mention it prior to my appointment and was told I would get it before my nails gone. I spoke with John a manger and he was horrible and unprofessional and hung up on me saying it was my fault after he admitted he forgot about the 10 percent and NEVER educated me to bring in the special they offer on their website. Had I known prior I would've done my part but he is negligent and rude and dismissive. I may bave not shown a coupon but I DID mention it prior to my nails being done and was told i would get it over the phone with John. He never said anything about brining anything in. And then he has the audicity to disrespect me over the phone again as a new commer? This is not how you treat client especially for business. All this bull and disrespect for 7 dollar refund that he fails...
Read moreDo not go to this place. I am so beyond disappointed, all of the good reviews had my hopes up. First of all, the lady was so rough with my fingers when she was filing them with the electric file that she even made two of them bleed. Yet she continued after i continually kept pulling away and saying that it hurt. Eventually i asked her to just stop filing them but she said something i didn’t hear because she was quiet and just kept doing it. I don’t know if she didn’t hear me but i just kept sitting through the pain. and she knew that my fingers were bleeding because i saw her stop and inspect it but keep going anyways, didn’t ask if i was okay or anything. Fast forward, we are done and i just pay the money and leave. But 3 days later, TWO NAILS ALREADY BREAK. my middle finger on my right hand and my pinky on my left. This was so upsetting but i thought maybe it was my fault. I was proved otherwise when a few days later i ran my fingers through my hair and my hair got stuck in one of my nails. after that, i saw the nail was already lifting so i just removed it. At that point, i decided i was just not going to walk around with three missing nails so, after not being able to find nail clippers, i attempted to bend one back and it broke off with literally no effort. i then did it to EVERY SINGLE OTHER FINGER, no effort they all just broke off. Save your money and go somewhere better. My nails look like they were rushed, one was even crooked and the acrylic obviously was not good. I’ve gone to places in the past that charged less and did a way better job than this. Also, this is only after TEN DAYS. My nails from my other place lasted me three weeks to a month. My nails from this place barely lasted me more than a week. Save your money and do...
