NUC University – Florida Technical College Lakeland — Attraction in Lakeland

Do not go to this school! From the time i was there it started off ok until i was about 9 months into my program or so when i started getting bullied by a group of girls. When I complained about it to the Dean he told me to ignore it but he'd supposedly talk to the main girl that was doing it. It was bs he didn't talk to her and it continued, this girl even pushed me with her body and when i snapped her and her friends thought it was funny and again the dean did nothing about it! I got so depressed and upset about it i stopped going to school and overall tried to avoid being there until she was gone as well as another male student that disrespected me and other students and teachers but again they did nothing about it. Everytime i came to them about a bullying problem the dean as well as another supposed counselor said ignore it and go about your business. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO IGNORE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BULLY YOU AND HURT YOU ON A DAILY BASIS FOR NO REASON! I have yet til this day known why those girls bullied me and my sister and havent heard an apology from them worst part is some were mothers and all older than us! Disgusting! I'll tell you why they didnt want to do nothing though....MONEY this school doesnt care about the students whether they are comfortable or feel secure they care about your MONEY! Long as you pay them you can do whatever you want! Believe this. The school isn't even nice when i went there and it shares the building with like 3 other places and sometimes you can't find parking. Also some teachers are jerks. They have fired some of the good teachers from when i was there i don't know why and since i was there they literally had like 5 different deans so what does that tell you and ontop of that they hire useless people that don't do their job claiming they're the school counselor here to help you blah blah blah but they DON'T. I graduated awhile back ago and im still hurt and traumatized from my experience going to this school. I thought going to college was supposed to be a fun, great learning experience but i had THE WORST time ever including my litte sister. I do not recommend this school to anyone everytime someone asks me i tell them what happened and to not go. Also when i signed up to go to this school me and my mom told the girl we specifically wanted to pay out of pocket no loans! The girl lied to us told us i was getting a big discount for living with my parents covered the paperwork and said you dont have to read this just sign here. She was later fired i dont know why and then brought back!!!!! Crazy ridiculous. About a few months back (about a yr after I graduated) i started getting calls saying i owed these loaners money and to pay them back now over $20,000!!! I almost had a heartattack. I then called the school to speak to a Miss Candra and asked her about it and then tried to tell her what happened to me when i signed up, being as i used to talk to this lady when i was in school and she was always nice with me i thought she would sympathize with me and be nice. WRONG! She was so rude to me even scoffed at me when i told her I'd call her back with some information she needed and when i did she told me with an attitude "who signs a contract without reading it". She was right but again she didnt have to be so rude about it and i thought i could trust these people seeing as my sister was there before me and everything went well for her. I called the receptionist to get the deans email because he/she wasnt in and she gave me someone elses email, who i already knew who this person was and she was not the dean/director whatever. I'm so disappointed in this school i want nothing to do with them! If i could id get my money back but thats not possible. The worst school experience ive EVER had as well as the WORST people there! If you don't want this to happen to you DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Also they promise you a job from the beginning its a lie, ive been out of school for about 2 yrs now and still no job, they dont even try to help! TAKE MY ADVICE DO NOT...

I was wanting to go back to school and other colleges did not take the time to help me and put in the extra effort to actually care about my future. But the first day I came to FTC the staff was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. They took the time to sit down and help me with my FAFSA to get started in college as soon as possible. Since I started my teachers and staff have been very helpful and always providing an encouraging word and always willing to help even on their free time for their personal life. The teachers really take the time and stay at school til night and are always around for help and questions. My teachers I have had so far have really pushed me to limits and things I thought I never could do they have pushed me to be a better person and soon to be graduate! I thank all the staff and teachers for everything such as your time out of your lives to care about the students graduating and putting in the effort and encouragement and just being there to listen when we need to talk. I feel like I just started in July in 2017 and I will be graduated in June 2018. I have had an absolute amazing, out of this world experience since I began and I have recommended the school to everyone I know you will NEVER find amazing teachers, staff, faculty and counselors anywhere else. They have also offered night school for when i was sick and could not make it in the morning. Hands on procedures and labs, are on point thanks to the teachers for offering a helping hand. My counselor as well Ms. Sherry and director Ms.Jill have also been the biggest supporters just from the first day! I would not call anywhere else comfortable or even relaxed with spontaneous fun and help provided. Another awesome person is the director of admissions Mr. Joshua he asks about how he can help you and how everything is going and makes sure you are taken care of he is real polite and very friendly plus has a heart for people actually trying to graduate and do better with their lives. I am much more than just a student at FTC Lakeland. I am someone who is part of a family here along with each and every student who walks through the doors. We come in and have dreams and goals and we don't realize it at first when the faculty tells us how important to them we are, but I found out firsthand this past November. My oldest son died suddenly and tragically at home and my life came to a sudden stop. I could no longer function. I went from being an honor roll student to someone who couldn't sleep or eat, let alone deal with going to school. I just wanted to quit everything in my grief. Including being the President of Ambassadors, my English Comp class, and the two remaining months I had to get my Associates degree. But my Professors, my fellow students, the office staff, the Director, the Dean..Everyone held me up in prayer, support, they took up a collection for me, they called me, talked me thru when I needed them to and just carried me through the toughest trial I have ever had to endure. I couldn't have made it without my FTC family. There was no quitting with such a force of love behind me. They reminded me that my goals were also thier goals for me, and they would help me see them to completion. I am so thankful for that. And this past weekend I was able to stand before the new students in thier Orientation and tell them that I going to graduate with my associates next month, and come back for my bachelors Degree.
