Really, really enjoyed this place. Our first visit here.
ALL employees were nice and always helpful. Reception/office staff was very nice. Sites are very nice. Ultra clean, to the point that I'm sure they power wash any stains on the concrete, away. Nice grass strip along side each site is well maintained and NOT overwatered or mushy!.
We were in 85. My only gripe would be that it slopes too much to the front. When we leveled out, the front wheels were off the ground. Means you have to add an additional step to get in.
We were with a group. Not big gamblers here, but we went inside a few times and had a lot of fun. Especially enjoyed the restaurants in the back food court area. Very nice outside patio which overlooks the river bottom and the mountains. Prices were great too!
They also have a well stocked mini-mart between the hotel and the RV park. Had all the items you might forget and a nice made-to-order deli.
Shuttle to and from the RV park to the hotel was easy and the driver, Frank, was very nice!
On this weekend, they also had a wine and chocolate festival at the RV Park's community room. Free, just bring a wine to share. WOW! What a feast! The staff hosting this (Kelly?) were fantastic. The Chef was there too and he was great.
Do note about half the sites are only 30 amp sites. Not sure why they did this as it limits the bigger rigs to only the 50A sites. The back (south) row (Sites 6-24) were the least appealing in our opinion. Sites 20 and 21 have a large oak tree outside the property line which would not allow any satellite reception. Sites 25-35 have I think geese behind them. I guess they could be noisy, but not sure.
Pool is nice. They have two jacuzzi/spas. One at 98 degrees, one at 102 degrees. 98 was far more popular. Many pop-up umbrellas around the pool too.
To the reviewer who said there is nothing to do and no security. What you want to do is up to you, so I can't see degrading a place for that. We had PLENTY to do! And Security rolls through on golf carts and bikes...
Read moreMy group of friends and I have been coming to Pala rv park for a few years now. Has been one of our favorite locations. When we first started coming they charged $55 a night. We just recently tried to book three nights there and it was going to be over $400. Thought there had to be a mistake until we called to confirm the price. Sadly in the last few months they have felt the need to drastically increase their prices to $130 a night weekend rate. We are so disappointed and will not be returning to this location anymore. How they feel they can justify a 100% increase is beyond me. Pechanga RV Park is still only about $80 a night so we will be checking out their location.
And I should add we did not go to the park to just stay at the park. Every trip we went we spent hours in the casino spending lots of money gambling and patronizing the food facilities. With the increased rates that leaves us less money to spend in the casino. The last few times we had gone I had noticed more and more young families with kids coming to the park who didn't appear to be going to the casino at all but just staying at the park with their kids. If the adults aren't going to the casino then I'm sure that's lost revenue the casino was expecting the park would generate. So I wonder if that has anything to do with the...
Read morePark is clean, sites are nice. Bathrooms are very nice. Guests do not pick up after their dogs in the dirt dog park.
If you're part of or looking to be part of the geritol brigade, this park is for you. Prior to my stay at this place I'd never ran into a more crotchety and less than friendly crowd of old white people. Maybe it was just the crowd this weekend but I doubt it.
The park makes it pretty clear in their brochure that children are unwelcome. And they've provided nothing for children to do. Minors (anyone under the age of 21) may not ride a bicycle without being accompanied by an adult over the age of 21. Don't bother to bring your electric scooter etc as they are banned. So be aware of that.
The 5 mph speed limit is strictly enforced unless it's the parking shuttle which motors through the park at speeds well above 5 mph.
Talking and laughing at your site prior to quiet hours will get you a noise warning, ask me how I know. Don't bother with music as "loud music" is subjectively defined as anything above "I can almost hear it."
There are better places to stay in the area but if you're a gambling addict none are as convenient to flushing...
