Not sorry to share this review!!! Hope this review helps BAR MEETS GRILL in Pala California inside Pala Casino Resort get their service together!! 1ST attempt to enjoy the atmosphere at BAR MEETS GRILL was a eye opening experience....SMH. Wife and I were ignored deliberately and blatantly. While trying to order drinks and food to go at their bar. The 3 servers congregated in a circle right next to us , chatting about one of the servers vacation coming up? Neither of the 3 asked us "Can I help you?" Or "What can I get you?" Or anything? Finally one caught eye contact with my wife after reading her face asks? "Are you ready to order?( We never got menu's to order) This was there 1st contact with us? After sitting there over 10mins. While ppl after us were being helped right away? Like before couples of Indian and Mexican decent were helped right away? "( LITERALLY OVERLY HELPED AND OVERLY POLITE) All the while wife and I were on an island sitting 2 feet away from a couple that just arrived after us? Its was late and we wanted to get food to go and head up to our room? I finally asked can we ordered????????? Then in a very terrible obvious way we were given some attention from these employees of BAR MEETS GRILL? We ordered our meals and waited another 30+mins to receive our orders? Never asked? "Would we like to order a drink?" while we waited? Finally our food arrives to go? No bag No Forks! No Spoons! No Condiments! No Bag! No Napkins! Just the plastic containers they came in...that were almost shoved across the counter to us on the bars counter top like you see in an old western with a mug of beer? I continued to hold my composure. Wife did the same. Smh. We left the the food and just went upstairs angry 😠 😡.
2nd time on 01/12/2024 last night we got terrible service and being ignored until we said something to the servers!!!(AGAIN) We order... again No Bag! No Forks! No Napkins! No Condiments! Just our food on the counter top given to us like we were an irritant. THESE SERVERS ARE PPL OF COLOR ...AND OF INDIAN OR MEXICAN DECENT. TOTALLY DIFFERENT SET OF SERVERS FROM THE PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER. AND THEY TOO WERE OF INDIAN OR MEXICAN DECENT. WERE WE BAFFLED BY THE 1ST SITUATION OF RACISM BUT THE 2ND WAS JUST TOO MUCH FOR US TO IGNORE!!! IM FEELING SO BAD I COULDN'T SLEEP LAST NIGHT? SO IM UP THIS MORNING AT 7:04 01/12/2024 EXPRESSING THE PAIN AND ANGER I FELT EXPERIENCING THIS AT ALL BUT FOR A SECOND TIME? WAS JUST TOO MUCH TO BARE!! I HAD TO GET HOW WE WERE TREATED OUT OF MY BODY AND MIND? SO I CAN FEEL ALITTLE BETTER? WE ARE HUMILIATED AND CONFUSED. IF YOUR ARE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN DECENT IN CALIFORNIA? AND FIND YOURSELF TRYING TO ENJOY YOUR DATED NIGHT? AT ALL COST AVOID "BAR MEETS GRILL" AT PALA CASINO RESORT IN PALA CALIFORNIA. THEY TREATED MY WIFE AND I ON OUR VERY FEW DATE NIGHTS WE EVER GET TO HAVE? LIKE WE WERE IN THE DEEP SOUTH IN 1933. PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. DONT RUIN YOUR DATE NIGHT BY GOIN TO "BAR MEETS GRILL" IN PALA CASINO IN...
Read moreIf you ever make the trek to Pala Casino, in Pala, California, make a point to dine inside Bar Meets Grill (BMG).
This is the closest to fine dining that Pala can offer during the temporary closure of their award winning steakhouse, The Oak Room.
Bar Meets Grill’s ambience is impressive with their take on modern design, yet keeping the setting warm. Tables and chairs are spaciously set throughout the restaurant with a view of the Starlight Theater and the Palomar Mountains. Large and comfy booth seatings are available and located alongside the wall for comfort and outlook of the entire venue.
BMG offers a very grown up menu that will please even the finicky eaters. Come with good spirits, pair their delicious appetizers and entrees with the house’ specialty cocktails, beers, and reserved wines.
Complimentary breads are served with homemade butter. Slices of fresh sourdough, dried fruit with nuts and olives are snuggled inside the bread basket. This can easily fill you up, so proceed with caution.
How about starting off with a perfectly cooked and fresh, Fried Calamari. Squeeze lemon to give the dish a little tang and dip away on their Spicy San Marzano tomato sauce. Not spicy for me but everyone’s heat level differs.
Not your type of app, then try their creamy tasting Crab Cakes, or a generous helping of their Steamed Clams and Mussels. And let’s not forget The Bar’s Charcuterie Board adorned with fresh fruits, cold cuts, three types of exotic cheeses, dark chocolates and my personal favorite on the board, Fig Jam.
For the main entrees, an extensive list awaits. Meat lovers, choices of Prime Steaks and Chops. In house fresh pastas and creamy sauces served with chicken, clams and classic marinara meatballs. Do try the showstopper, Fruitti di Mare with scallops, jumbo shrimp, Chilean sea bass and lobster. Yum!
Not yet impressed? Perhaps the Wagyu Burger with white cheddar or the Brown Butter Sage Chicken Gnocchi as well as their impressive line up on Fish and Seafood Dishes. Side dishes are also available for those who need an extra flair.
By this time, you will wish for another stomach. You maybe raising your hand while waving the white flag, but the sense of fullness is all worth it.
I have not been fortunate enough to try BMG’s selective dessert menu, with the exception of our Tres Leches anniversary cake.
With that said, a big shout out to Pala’s Food and Beverage Manager, Daniel for making our anniversary a memorable experience. You certainly etched an unforgettable and joyous memory for us that night. Hands down on your genuine hospitality. It will forever be recognized.
Until next time…
Bar Meets Grill: Open daily from 5 pm to 11 pm. Reservations...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to we'd go to Pala Casino to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We decided to make reservations at Bar Meets Grill. It was our first time eating there. We arrived on time and were seated immediately at a great table. Our server Tiffany was at our table within minutes of being seated and took our drink orders while we were deciding what to order. To our surprise the resturants chef, Chef Anila came by our table to wish us a happy anniversary and said she would personally cook for us. Very nice of her to offer that I might add. She asked what we were ordering of which we weren't sure of yet. She made a few suggestions so being our first time there we went with her suggestions. It didn't take long for our appetizers to arrive. The crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and Italian meatballs were a great start. The mushroom sauce was my favorite and quickly soaked up with the table bread. A perfectly cooked and juicly medium rare ribeye and lobster tail for me and the Atlantic Salmon for my bride. They were oh so good. We finished the meal with a toast to each other with some champagne. Cheers. After the meal Chef Anila returned to inquire about our meal to which we said "it was more then we had anticipated and was delicious" She then surprised us with a very cool anniversary gift...tickets to a concert there at Pala Casino that night! To finish the anniversary date we shared a very nice tirimusu. All in all it was a fantastic experience at Bar Meets Grill. Tiffany was very attentive while never being intrusive and Chef Anila made the whole night even more special. We felt special being there. We cant...
