If you are trying to decide which catamaran dolphin tour to take then let me make it easy for you. This is the best choice, being from North Carolina and never having experienced I decided to try my luck and choose the Privateer. My luck far exceeded my expectations…let me tell you why…from the very moment we boarded the boat, Captain Mike, Keagan and Jordan were super interactive and had us pumped up before the boat was even cranked. In a few short minutes into the 2 hour tour, we were seeing pods of dolphins jumping while enjoying breathtaking views to the beat of music that just set the stage. Honestly it was like something you’d see in a movie except we were in it. We were also given a complimentary beverage to enjoy on board as we were sailing into the sunset which just added to the nostalgia. I secretly let the crew know that it was my girlfriend’s birthday and asked for a simple shoutout. Captain Mike went above and beyond by not only giving her the shoutout and asking all on board to clap for her but he also played “Sweet Caroline” because of her name. Just as the sun was sinking into the horizon, Captain Mike pointed the boat in that direction and we watched the sun fade away into the midst of the unknown. We took a 90-minute sunset cruise aboard a catamaran with Paradise adventures on 6/11 and had mixed reviews. Below is a summation of what we enjoyed and what would cause us to think twice before booking with them again.

Pros: the two staff members on the boat (captain Gordon and first mate Chelsea) were both super kind and helpful. They were so personable and made the experience enjoyable. Their stories, expertise, and candor were highlights of the cruise.

Cons: Paradise cancelled our originally-scheduled cruise with only a 2 hour notice. We were staying in rosemary beach, which is about a 1 hour drive from Paradise’s departure point with traffic (which is inevitable with a 6:30pm departure time). This forced us to re-plan our vacation with very little notice. They did not offer any compensation, refunds, etc for the inconvenience.

Further, they made us pay $22.50 for an 8-week old infant that slept in a baby sling the whole time. The check-in staff was condescending and unwilling to make any accommodations even after they canceled our initial cruise and bumped us to another date.

Verdict: I’m sure there are many other sunset/dolphin sightseeing cruise operators around PCB, and I encourage you to consider those prior to booking with Paradise. The only good parts were the...
